Izuku had spent the majority of lunch stealing glances at Kaminari who he often caught doing the same, causing both of them to blush. He didn't just do that though, he did learn a thing or three about his class and current table mates.

Like Bakugo's family had moved after the fire, Bakugo luckily had enough tact to not mention how Izuku was connected to that. He in turn learned that Bakugo, Kirishima, Sero and Ashido all grew up together and went to school together too.

Kiki/Jirou, Ochaco and a very reluctantly looking Sero joined their table at one point. It earned Izuku a recounting of the day of the normal entrance exam. How Bakugo had actually saved Ochaco from being crushed by Nedzu's zero pointer.

Izuku couldn't believe the chimera actually used that thing during the exam. Over the time he's studied with the creature he's known that he tends to be kind of unhinged. Prone to go on about world domination but he didn't think he'd ever put a student's life on the line just for a test...

The story also grew Izuku's confidence in allowing Ibuki to continue living his life undisturbed. Bakugo may be brash, loud, no doubt far too loud for his own good and severely lacking in any kind of hairbrush but he seems like a good guy overall.

The story about the incident outside U.A on that same day and why Ochaco is glad Mineta was expelled only endeared the blonde to him even more. That was until he had to go and ruin it.

The bell signaling lunch's end rang and Bakugo, Tenya and Izuku happened to be on the tail end of the crowd leaving the cafeteria. Kaminari had gotten swept away by the multitude of pushing students.

Bakugo clicked his tongue in annoyance at the slow progress of the crowd and caught sight of Izuku looking at the photo of Ibuki Bakugo himself had sent him earlier. "You do know he's my brother now right? I'm not letting Eyebags or his wife steal him away."

Izuku felt his mouth sour at the comment. Partly because that was never his intention once he had learned about Ibuki still being alive. The cruel nickname about his dad, their teacher also rubbed him the wrong way.

"Firstly you better never call my dad, our teacher, that in front of me ever again." Izuku said getting close to bakugo and pushing a finger against his chest.

"Secondly, the only thing I've ever wanted since the moment I learned Ibuki was alive is for him to be safe and happy." Izuku said feeling the tears fill the corner of his eyes but ignoring it.

The whole crowd, unknown to Izuku, had gone silent and was watching and listening to him go off on Bakugo. "He's the only thing connecting me to our mother so yeah I wanted to see what he looked like, sue me."

Izuku threw his hands in the air in exasperation. "I don't even have a photo of our mom. I thought I had her eyes, but i come nowhere close to it in comparison to him." Izuku sighed and shook his head.

"I never intended to take him away from the only family he's known. So fuck you for even suggesting otherwise." Izuku wiped at his face with the back of his hand.

Bakugo looked like he wanted to say something as he grew increasingly pale as Izuku kept talking. Izuku just shook his head to deny him and looked him directly in the eyes. "Lastly, I seriously hope that was just some sick joke or a weird jealousy thing, because up until a second ago I was really glad Ibuki had someone so awesome and good for a big brother. Something I failed at..."

Izuku turned and pushed his way past the crowd of people who were just standing there staring at him. Most of them moved aside but some of them appeared to be shocked to some degree. Izuku didn't want to deal with them so he shifted to cat and ran past or through their legs. He didn't know where he was going but he just knew it can't be here anymore.
