Chapter 37

The school day after Bakugo's bad taste joke Izuku had taken his parents' offer of letting him stay in the teacher's lounge or with Nezu. They themselves had spent the better part of the night consoling Izuku, assuring him they aren't angry with him and despite the small argument they still loved each other. That he didn't cause them problems.

They had spent the night all cuddled on the couch watching old pre-quirk age movies, where they all eventually fell asleep. Izuku felt slightly guilty for acting like a little kid but he couldn't deny it's the best sleep he's had in a while.

He soon realized that morning after having breakfast that neither he nor Kaminari had made any solid plans for their date. Much as he's opposed to the idea of his dads knowing who his crush is, he didn't have his number. He was about to ask his dad if he could send Kaminari to the teacher's lounge some time today. But that's when he remembered Tenya had been named class president after he had ran away. On the drive to school Izuku texted Tenya. He was bound to have everyone's number.

He really prefers hearing people talk to him, that way he can at least pick up variations in tone. Texting, while certainly faster, doesn't convey intention that clearly and Izuku is always nervous he's taking something the wrong way. Luckily he's known Tenya long enough that that's almost never a problem.
