After Denki had left their house Izuku managed to avoid talking about why he had been so upset in the first place. His dads gave him space but they also constantly kept hinting that they were ready to listen if he wanted to talk to them. At first Izuku was reluctant as there really isn't anything they could do about it. In a sense he understood Mrs. Bakugo's desire to protect Ibuki from the truth... It's not everyday you find out your biological father is a psychopathic murderer with an inclination towards arson, after all.

Izuku managed to avoid it for the impressively long period of a whole week. Well it was impressive considering who his dad is and how he has a knack for getting criminals to talk with a single stare. Not that he'd ever employ such tactics against Izuku, but there is still something to be said for the compulsion effect his worried face produced too. It was just as effective, if not more so. Added onto that was his pops' comforting aura. He really didn't stand a chance and eventually he had to concede, and tell his dads about the decision Mrs. Bakugo had made in regards to Ibuki not knowing about his adoption.

Once they knew what had been bothering him so much they did their best to comfort and reassure him that it wasn't because of anything he had done. Even if they don't agree with the method, Mrs. Bakugo was in her own way trying to protect her son, his brother. Izuku of course knew that on some level, but to hear it from his dads made him realize it wasn't just a hopeful wish. That she wasn't keeping Ibuki away from the truth because of some sort of perceived flaw with him personally.

It took quite some time and with the help of his dads, Denki and surprisingly even Bakugo, he was slowly learning to live with this reality. One in which he might never personally know his own blood brother.

Naturally it was quite the shock to go from trying to accept that and getting to know Ibuki vicariously through Bakugo — who would tell him stories and share photos — to coming face to face with Ibuki himself waiting at the school gates. At first Izuku thought that maybe he was waiting for Bakugo, but then he remembered that Bakugo had left earlier in the day for a dentist appointment. His next logical thought was that maybe he was there to relay information to one of Bakugo's friends.

Even if that was a ridiculous notion given the existence of phones, it was far more within the range of acceptable possibilities to Izuku's mind than the slight chance that maybe Ibuki might be there to talk to him specifically.

The illusion of that idea was quickly shattered when Ibuki came striding up to him, his light green curls bouncing as he walked quite clearly and determinately towards Izuku. It was one thing to hear from Bakugo and the way he talks about how confident Ibuki is, it's another thing entirely to see how he carries himself in person.

Everyone in class 1 A has grown quite used to how confident and self assured Bakugo is. They've also gotten accustomed to the notion that the only person the explosive blonde unequivocally and automatically respects or even acknowledges via terms of power above his own is his brother Ibuki.

Izuku stopped as he approached wondering where this was going to lead to. Before he could think too hard about all the possible outcomes this meeting could have, Ibuki was in front of him, looking at him expectantly.

"You're Izuku, yes?"

Having his blood brother immediately know who he was certainly wasn't high on his list of expectations which caused him to just stand there open mouthed like an idiot.

"Yo, you awake?" Ibuki asked, waving a hand in front of his face which thankfully snapped Izuku out of his trance.

"Sorry, Y-yea." Izuku blushed in embarrassment trying to compose himself. He cleared his throat and started over. "I mean yes. I'm Izuku. You're Ibuki right? Bakugo talks about you a lot."
