Life for Izuku lately has been by his own estimation nothing but wonderful. Sure, to other people having a pair of loving parents, a relationship with their sibling and a promising romantic interest would be a given. Something they don't even have to think twice about it being a reality. They might even fully expect to not live on the streets surviving on the bare minimum. To not be haunted by gruesome and all too detailed nightmares of their mother's murder. Others take things like that for granted.
Not Izuku.
It's been a long road and he expects that somewhere along the way things might get hard again, but now he knows he won't be facing whatever may come completely alone anymore. He has his dads, people he can see becoming true friends. Plus there's Kaminari. Most of all though he's building a bond with his brother. Again that would be something other people overlook as common.
Something they take for granted so much that they even push their own siblings away in exchange for being 'cool' and conforming to teenage judgment. Izuku however can't ever imagine a scenario where he would ever willingly separate himself from Ibuki. He's also hopeful that his brother shares the sentiment.
Despite his brother's insistence at first that Izuku not bother him after he had shared his contact details, he himself has not stopped texting Izuku. Something Izuku was all too happy to not point out, he enjoyed staying in contact with his brother far too much. Granted at first it wasn't more than mere good mornings and good nights. Then came the occasional cat meme with him jokingly asking This you? Now though they talk about any and everything.
Izuku is careful to avoid subjects which might sour their relationship though. At some point he knows Ibuki's mom is going to find out about them being in contact and he'd like to minimize the damage. However, the one time Izuku started to steer the conversation in that direction, Ibuki didn't reply to him for an entire day. Izuku hasn't made that mistake again and doesn't intend to either. He only hopes that maybe they can avoid detection by the Bakugo matriarch until Ibuki is old enough to put his foot down.
When the doorbell went off one day after school and Izuku opened the door he realized that he should really have known better. Things rarely stay wonderful in his world. In front of him was a full grown female version of his classmate. One Mitsuki Bakugo, wearing what Izuku can now only assume is the family scowl that Bakugo seemed to have inherited from her.
Izuku stared at her slack jawed not knowing what to do or say. Her presence here could mean a number of things. It's not entirely uncommon for parents of either of his dad's classes to come over for a type of conference outside the normal yearly ones. Bakugo though shares his top spot in nearly all classes with Yaoyorozu and Iida who in turn only sometimes lose the spot to Todoroki.
The likelihood she was here to discuss her son's academic performances with either of his parents were low. Given Izuku's horrible history in regards to luck, that really only left one other option for her personal arrival. She probably knows and found out Ibuki knows the truth and is here to berate him. Possibly worse, serve some kind of a restraining order against him and his family.
Just before Izuku could drive himself into a full blown panic attack his dad called out to him, his voice coming closer as he spoke. "Kitten? Who's at the door?"
When he didn't immediately answer the footsteps increased until he saw Mrs. Bakugo too. "Ah." he said, now standing behind Izuku, a hand resting on his shoulder to ground him. His dad no doubt had seen the signs that he was starting to panic.
"We've been expecting you Mrs. Bakugo." His dad said, sounding unnaturally friendly.
"We have?!" Izuku couldn't help but blurt out, shocked by this information. If they have, why wasn't he informed?!
