This past week has been unlike any other Izuku has ever had. Sure the time that human cub had stolen him was sort of similar. He had food and water regularly and even let her show him affection. Though never in all his time with her did they ever talk. He now knows there's a requirement to be able to hear him. This knowledge however does not erase that it had still hurt him when he begged her for help and she just let her father take him away and dump him at the death house.
The day he managed to escape there he had made a solemn vow to himself that he'd never fully trust a human ever again. So it's quite odd then that Izuku finds himself feeling completely at ease with Aizawa and his mate Hizashi. Perhaps it's the fact that he's able to communicate with them? It certainly does help to vocalize how they displease him so they can correct their behavior.
The fact that he's able to do that also shows the stark contrast these two have in relation to the rest of their kind. Not once has Izuku told them about something he would prefer they do, or something they shouldn't do has it felt like he was in any danger because of it. Anytime in the past where he had made his discomfort clear to others it has not gone over well. Sure it had to be done via ducking away or hissing at extremes but still.
Aizawa simply nods or hums agreement and then changes the behavior, no veiled threats or attacks. His mate even goes further and asks about why it bothers him, as if he's actually interested. Izuku was sure it would change when he asked Aizawa to not touch that rough under his fur area on his side. But he simply agreed much to Izuku's confusion.
Then he was certain that Hizashi would get angry when he asked him to not close the curtains in the room they designated as his area to sleep. Instead he just got curious, wanting to know if Izuku liked watching the stars.
Izuku almost freaked out when he decided to test the waters and see if there was a limit to how far he could go. They had been feeding him much like the human from his alley only more. He grew bold and asked if they could switch it up and give him a fish instead one night. Instead of yelling or flat out kicking him out they actually did it.
They didn't even mind when Izuku left while they slept and only returned when the sun was already up. The Aizawa one even held the same reasonable hours as Izuku. A human with a proper sense of time, now there's a concept Izuku will likely never get used to...
Needless to say that small amount of trust Izuku had started to feel for Aizawa extended to his mate and it was starting to grow larger by the day. So it wasn't as odd as it should have been to find Izuku snoozing on Aizawa's lap. In fact that was where he was when the contraption humans carry, that Izuku had since learned is called a phone, had started making ungodly levels of noise.
Ugh, who the . . . oh
Hello Nezu sir
Uh-hum
Yes, he's still with us
Oh well yes of course, he's free to come and go as he pleases
Hmm
Today?
No he hasn't left yet.
Okay we'll be there sen-
Right...
Goodbye N-nezu
Aizawa gently shielded Izuku's ears before leaning back slightly and yelling. "Zashi Nezu called!"
Hizashi came walking into the living room busy fiddling with his ears like Izuku often sees him do. He's noticed the odd position he wears his jewelry but hasn't brought it up with them. Humans are strange creatures so having odd customs seems to just fit the bill in Izuku's eyes.
Once his eyes landed on the sight of Izuku still on Aizawa's lap he gave his mate a soft smile. Instead of answering Aizawa though, he waved his hand about in the air like Izuku sometimes sees him and Aizawa do. Somehow they communicate like this much to Izuku's amazement.
After a bit of them moving their hands and arms around Hizashi finished with his jewelry and sighed. "I seriously need to find a new support company. This is like the third pair I had to try today, the rest are dead in the water. No juice at all." he finished saying with a grimace on his face
Aizawa gave his mate a sympathetic look saying "Well we are going to U.A today take Maijima up on his offer already."
Hizashi blushed slightly saying "It still feels weird, like i'm taking advantage of a friend"
Aizawa rolled his eyes at this with a smile on his face "Zashi, he has literally been offering to make them for years now, it's not taking advantage if he keeps insisting."
"I know but he's so busy . . ." Hizashi huffed
"You know we'd be just as busy if we took Nezu up on his offer though." Aizawa informed him with a laugh
Hizashi shook his head with a sly smirk. "No, we'd slow down on hero work"
This made Aizawa raise his eyebrows in knowing suspicion "You just want an excuse to get your own recording studio built into the house"
Hizashi stomped his foot lightly "It's not like there won't be space! They are still building it, you know. . ."
Aizawa groaned and threw his head against the backrest of the sofa saying "Don't remind me please"
Hizashi moved over and pinched one of his cheeks and said "You're the one who wanted to build us a house instead of buying one"
Aizawa only groaned more "Ugh, if we find someone with a time manipulation quirk I'm going back in time to slap myself. Planning a wedding and overseeing construction at the same time?!"
Hizashi just laughed at him "My turn to remind you of the favor Ishiyama offered us. . ."
Aizawa sat up again ready to defend his own reason for not taking up a friend on help. "He's busy overseeing one of Nezu's new crazy training buildings. He bought a whole extra acre of land for U.A to build it. . ."
Hizashi hummed his agreement stating "It's sorely needed though Sho, you remember the rescue training we had?!"
A look of horror passed across Aizawa's face. "Don't remind me, that wasn't training that was just throwing us in the deep end."
Izuku had been watching the both of them talking back and forth and usually he'd be content watching the two humans interact, he had questions plus it's daytime! He's supposed to be sleeping right now... So he leapt off of Aizawa's lap and sat on the coffee table to face the pair. "Not that this conversation isn't interesting, but you said the Nezu creature called on the lightbox?" he asked with a slightly tilted head
"Phone." Aizawa reminded him
"Yes, the phone. Does that mean what I think it does?" Izuku asked, ignoring the slight annoyance of being corrected.
Aizawa bit his lip and shrugged slightly "He didn't say, just that he wanted to see all three of us."
"Cryptic. . ." Izuku said sarcastically
In unison Aizawa and Hizashi both said "That's Nezu..."
