Bakugo stomped in almost as soon as Jiro had left and Izuku couldn't help but feel nervous. This guy was intense and his quirk definitely makes him feel more on edge than he feels with anyone else in the class.

He stopped just short of running into Izuku and eyed both him and his dad. "Well?"

"You seriously need to control yourself Bakugo. I'm allowing this for the overall welfare of my son. If I think for a second having this conversation is more detrimental than helpful I'm putting a stop to it. Do you understand?"

Bakugo grumbled but quieted down nonetheless as he saw how serious Aizawa was and proceeded to nod.

"Good. Now I'm willing to overlook the fact that you just eavesdropped on a very private conversation if it helps speed up things here. I'll also be needing you to not spread what you heard."

Izuku looked stunned between his dad and this Bakugo guy. He had listened in on the conversation with Kiki. Izuku would be lying if he said that didn't piss him off. It made him forget about his budding fear of Bakugo's quirk.

"That's so fucked up dude. What gives you the right to do something like that?"

"Language Izuku..."

Izuku spun around and stomped his foot "But Dad..."

Izuku received a look that told him there was no winning that particular point so he just returned to glaring at Bakugo for what he did.

"You really don't remember then do you?" Bakugo asked in such a soft manner that Izuku almost felt guilty for being angry at him. Almost.

"Remember what Bakugo?"

"Me for one..." he sighed looking slightly lost before continuing "Or your life before... before the fire?"

Izuku shook his head seeing that Bakugo was at least trying to be serious about this. "The only thing I remember comes to me in the form of a nightmare I've had since I was a kitten."

"Nightmare?" Bakugo frowned

"It doesn't start out as one." sighed not really wanting to relive the entire thing again after the night he's had. Maybe just key points in it?

"It starts with what I now know is my mom. There's a baby she says is my brother. That part is nice but pretty soon it shifts to eyes so orange and filled with hatred, fire, smoke and pain in my side. My mom telling me to live... " Izuku stopped as he started to smell the phantom smoke.

Bakugo looks haunted as he hears the summary of Izuku's recurring nightmare but he doesn't move to interrupt Izuku.

"It was only because of my dad here and with the help of Nedzu that I know it's a memory and not a nightmare. Anything before that is just blank..." Izuku finishes, happy he didn't spiral completely into a panic attack again.

"Did you really live like a cat for ten years?" Bakugo asked, sounding actually concerned for a second.

"It wasn't that bad." Izuku chuckles

"Izuku..." His dad speaks up, no doubt trying to remind him about what his therapist had said. That he shouldn't marginalize what he went through. Izuku doesn't fully agree with Dr. Hinata on that one though.

"What? It wasn't, sure the majority of humans are as- mean" Izuku corrected when his dad coughed "but there were a kind few. Mostly it was just lonely..." Izuku admitted.

"What about other cats?"

Izuku chuckled at that. "They must've known instinctually I'm not really one of them, I never really fit in with any clowder for long."
