The building was the same as the last time Izuku was here. The area that belongs to the school and conversely to Nezu was still obscene in scale. Much like the building's doors that were still as ridiculously large as he had remembered them. They confound any logic given that they open just as quickly in comparison to normal doors. The walk to Nezu's office was still the same distance. Nothing physical about U.A had changed at all but, somehow it all looks different to him now.
It might have to do with being more comfortable with the Aizawa human than he was last time they walked these halls. Living with him and his mate Hizashi has certainly started to change his opinion on humans, or rather on these two very specific humans. It will be an unnaturally cold day in the underworld if he is ever going to open himself up even more than he already has with these two.
Another possible reason why everything looks much different today is the looming possible outcome of this particular visit. If the Nezu creature has indeed uncovered something about his origin, well what would that mean...
Would Aizawa prove him right that he was a fool to start trusting a human again? Would he make him leave once they learn where he came from? Does he even want to stay with them after learning about himself? Did the Nezu creature even find anything about him, perhaps there isn't anything to find.
Before he could spiral completely into despair they were rounding the corner and in front of Nezu's door. Much like last time the door opened before Aizawa could knock or push it open himself. The Nezu creature is sitting the same as last time, tea already in hand and giving a welcoming smile saying "Aizawa, Yamada, Izuku! Come in, come in, just in time! Tea?"
They took their seats and drinks, Aizawa only sniffing it and clearly wishing it was something else. Instead of jumping on the desk like last time Izuku jumped out of the scarf and made himself comfortable on Aizawa's lap gazing at the Mammal that had called them here.
Nezu sat back down on his chair and clapped his paws together with a wild smile on his face. "Now, before we get started with the main thing, I would be remiss if I didn't take this rare opportunity right in front of me. It's not often I can get both of you in my office at the same time, gone are the days when I could just summon you over the intercom."
He looked between the pair of humans after a pause and with a sly tone said "Unless of course either or both of you have opened your minds to the chance?"
Aizawa shifted his shoulders nervously while Yamada only looked slightly amused and like he was expecting this. Perhaps he did actually as most of Nezu's attention seemed to be focused on Aizawa.
"Can I add you boys to my staff?" he asked again as neither of the humans replied to his first question.
Given the amount of daily grumbling Aizawa had unknowingly subjected Izuku to when he sees Nezu has contacted him about a job again his response was quite unexpected. With a heavy sigh and a glance at his mate that turned into a smirk upon gaining a nod from him Aizawa replied "The idea is starting to gain appeal, but it really depends on how today goes"
How today goes? This human was basing a decision on how it would affect Izuku? Izuku shook himself internally, that's ridiculous and clearly he's just jumping to conclusions now. These humans have no reason to take him into consideration in regards to their own lives. None at all, yet a traitorous part of himself felt that strange and long forgotten tingle of hope. Maybe they do actually care...
Izuku was pulled back to reality and out of such preposterous notions with a feral laugh out of the Nezu creature. "Haha, naturally. I thought as much, which is why I worked extra hard to dig out the truth." a spark of excitement behind those beady black eyes of his.
