Twyla's POV

I slowly began to stir out of one of the best sleeps I have ever had, but the more I woke up the more I realized I was laying on something soft. I slowly opened my eyes to find that I was in Aries bed. I laughed to myself. How did I get here? I felt my mate's arm wrapped around my torso. I tried to get up so I could go pee, but to no avail. I turned to face Aries to tell him to let me up, but as I looked to his face, I instantly noticed he was already awake. The scary part was his eyes were wide open staring at me unblinking. I didn't know what to do, so I did the only thing I could. I slowly reached up and caressed his face, and he instantly dropped his face into my hand closing his eyes in the process taking a deep breath.

" Twyla please don't ever do that to me again." He mumbled slowly. I gave him a confused look. " What did I do? " I questioned, trying to pull back. Aries held me tighter giving me an exasperated look. " Twyla, you disappeared all day yesterday. I had my whole pack out looking for you, and we didn't find you until late last night. " He stated. I could see in Aries' face how hurt and worried he had been, come to think of it I had took off without warning. I wanted to tell Aries about what had happened with the moon goddess, but I knew it would have to wait till later. I looked down mumbling an apology, feeling shame that I had caused my mate to worry about me. Especially, since he had been nothing but so good to me.

Aries placed his fingers under my chin and brought my face up to look at him. " Twyla I'm not mad I was just seriously worried about you. " He explained. I knew he was right, so I looked straight into his eyes before leaning in and giving him a kiss. This wasn't one of those passionate rips your clothes kind of kisses, but a sweet I care a lot about you kiss. Aries growled low before pulling back his eyes jet black. " Twyla please let me mark you. " He stated. I stared at him. I knew I cared about him and him me, and that he was my mate. It scared me to death to be responsible for a mate, but I also remember what Lunia the moon goddess my mother had told me. So, I smiled and nodded my head slowly. Aries slowly kissed me on my lips before making his way down my jaw then slowly down to the spot on my lower neck in between my shoulder and collar bone. I moaned which made Aries growl low. I slowly felt a prick before his canines sunk into my skin. The pain at first was unbearable and I let out a scream, but then the pain was slowly replaced by pure pleasure, and Aries held me in place so not to hurt myself. Once his teeth retracted, he slowly released me licking and kissing at my mark to help it heal. Jerking back suddenly he sat up against the wall breathing heavily, and his eyes were jet black." I know you're not ready. " He gasped. I slowly walked over to him and placed my hand on his arm. He calmed instantly before he pulled me into a hug. Then something amazing happened, I heard his voice in my head. Know I will always know where you are, Princess. He mind linked me. And I you, I smiled. You are mine and soon it will be official, he stated kissing my forehead. We will have the ritual tonight to combine both packs.

Aries Pov

I could see the nervousness in her face at the mention of the ritual, and I knew how hard tonight would be for her. An idea to take her mind off tonight popped into my head. " Princess, how would you like to go on a date with me this evening?" I asked. Her face instantly lit up at the mention of a date. "Yes absolutely." She grinned. " But what about the ritual?" " We will go on a date this afternoon and will have plenty of time to get back before tonight. It doesn't start till 7p.m"I replied. Twyla nodded in understanding, and I started conjuring up a plan for the date in my head so I could surprise my mate.
