Twyla's Pov

Over the next two months life seemed to go by super quickly and we all moved into a daily routine during the week. In the mornings we had the Alpha meetings, in the afternoons we had drills and fighting classes to help strengthen us in human and wolf forms, and in the evenings, we had safety and first aid classes. On Saturdays and Sundays, we allowed the wolves to have days off to rest up. Everyone seemed to be getting along pretty well in the packs. One evening I was helping Doctor Robbins finish packing up a first aid class when I noticed he looked troubled. "Doc is everything ok?" I asked. He turned to me and sighed. "Luna, I fear even with all this first aid if they use wolfsbane as Samuel did on you in the attack, we will lose a lot of lives." He declared. I nodded remembering how weak the wolfsbane made me. "What can we do? Is there a solution or antidote?" I questioned. The doctor's face turned hopeful as he closed his bag, and we walked back to his infirmary. " There is an antidote. But it comes at a cost and most werewolves refuse to go retrieve it. " He explained. If there is an antidote that could save lives, we needed to get that no matter what it cost even if it meant I had to go get it myself." Alright what are the details, Doc? How do we retrieve it? "I questioned.

Once we got back to the infirmary the Doctor pulled down a book from the shelf above his desk. "This book contains all the herbs, remedies, and antidotes for werewolves. The only antidotes in here to combat wolfsbane is two herbs called elderberry for the high fever and Hawthorne for the high blood pressure and cardiac issues. These mixed together will combat the effects of wolfsbane. "He declared. I took the open book and looked at the drawings of the herbs. "These look like common herbs. What is the problem? "I asked, curiously. The doctors face fell. "The problem is that we need to have these herbs mixed together with one final ingredient and the only person around here that will have it is a witch. "He explained. I looked at the doctor in shock at his suggestion. Wolves and witches were natural enemies, both born of two separate races and beliefs. We followed the moon goddess while they followed and worshipped Mother earth. "Now I see the problem. "I replied. Doctor Robbins put the book back on the shelf and slumped in his desk chair.

I knew the risk I would be putting myself and my pup in, but I knew we needed to get have this antidote to prevent losing wolves in this war. " Ok Doc. What do we need to do? "I questioned. He jumped up and pulled a map down of the local area. He pointed to a hard mountain terrain that was deep in the woods, with no access from roads and far off from any towns. "There is a witch known as Victoria that lives here, and you will have to travel there in your wolf form. She has been known to make deals with other supernatural's. So, you should be able get the other ingredient and the herbs all there." He stated. I grabbed a backpack and placed the maps and the book of herbs in the bag." What is the other ingredient? "I asked. The doc couldn't look me in the eye. "Doc? "I questioned. "Luna you will need some of her blood. It will bind the herbs." He declared. My eyes got as round as saucers. "You got to be kidding me." I exclaimed. "No Luna." He replied. "Ok," I sighed, walking out of the infirmary. Why couldn't anything ever be easy? I threw the backpack over one shoulder and walked over to Aries' office. I took a deep breath before opening the door. Convincing Aries that we needed to do this was going to be a whole other situation entirely.

Aries Pov

"Absolutely Not! "I exclaimed. Twyla had come into my office and explained to me what the Doctor had told her about the antidote, and I was fine with the trip, until she got to the part about the witch. Of course, I was dead set against it. Witches are notorious tricksters they only care about themselves and their covens. If you do get one to make a deal the cost would be very high, and it would be something you would hold dear. Another thing is I wouldn't be able to go with my mate, I have to stay here with the other Alpha's. "Aries I can do this. We have to get the antidote for the packs. "She declared. "Samuel will kill a lot of wolves with his wolfsbane if we don't." I knew Twyla and the Doc were both right about the loss of life we would have if Samuel used wolfsbane on his wolves. I ran my hand thru my hair frustrated, as I looked out the office window. Twyla approached me from behind and wrapped her arms around my torso. "Aries I have to do this. I am the Alpha Queen and daughter of the moon goddess. It isn't just about us anymore. I have to do whatever I can to save the lives of our pack and the others." She stated. I turned to face my mate and embraced her in a hug, resigning myself to her decision.

"Ok but since I can't go. You will have to take Jeremy and Seth with you." I ordered. Twyla nodded in understanding. "Ok handsome." She replied standing on her tip toes to kiss my cheek. I ran my hand over her bump that had started to show, as I mind linked Seth and told him to bring Jeremy with him to my office. Seth knocked on the door. " Come in." I ordered. Jeremy walked in first with Seth on his heels. "What is going on boss?" Seth questioned. Jeremy walked over and hugged Twyla, before he started baby talking to her stomach. Twyla laughed as I growled low, not wanting another man touching my mate. Jeremy stood up and stepped back keeping his eyes on the floor. "Ok Twyla is going on a quest to retrieve an antidote for the wolfsbane, and unfortunately I can't go with her. Seth and Jeremy, I am sending you with her to protect her and our pup at all costs. If anything happens to my mate, I will be holding you two personally responsible." I stated in my Alpha tone. Seth and Jeremy both nodded, "Yes Alpha." Twyla turned to Jeremy and Seth." Ok guys go get packed we will be leaving in the morning." She stated. Once Jeremy and Seth left the room to go pack, I picked up Twyla and carried her to our Quarters. I wanted to make sure that she knew how much I loved her, and tonight I was going to lavish her.
