We walked back through the portal into the astronomy tower. I can't believe I just showed him that. Why did I do it?
There was silence. Neither one of us wanted to start a conversation, but I could see the look on his face like he had a ton of questions.
"You get to ask me one question." I told him.
"So... How did you know those unforgivable curses?" He asked nervously.
"My parents taught me them." I said as I leaned my back against the wall and slid myself down. "They needed me to know how to protect myself." I brought my knees up to my chest and wrapped my arms around my legs.
"Do you regret what you did?" He asked, looking at me.
"Not one bit." I sighed. "He'll pay for what he did; killing my parents and my owl. I loved my parents dearly, but that owl meant the world to me. I had him ever sense he was an owlet." I could feel a warm tear drop running down my cheek. I quickly wiped it off before Draco would notice.
"What was your owl like?" He smiled.
I don't know why he was being so nice, but I figured I would play along.
"He was very smart." I smiled. "He followed me everywhere, like a lost puppy. Tried to protect me whenever he could. He would even cuddle with me in bed sometimes." I slightly chuckled.
"That sounds-" Before he could finish his sentence, loud thunder started to rumble, rain started to pour, and the lightening lit up the sky. I got up and walked to the railing, with Draco following.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" I smiled, looking at Draco.
"It is." He smiled, still facing me. He wasn't even looking at the sky.
When I turned back to look at the dark clouds, my face dropped and I think he noticed.
"Are you okay?" He asked, putting his hand on my shoulder.
"No." I sighed. My legs gave out, and I dropped to the floor.
"You want to talk about it?" He sat down next to me.
"Maybe someday." I sighed.
We sat silence for a few minutes before I decided to say something.
"Thank you, Draco."
"For what." He raised his eyebrows.
"For talking to me." I smiled. "But we should head back."
