As I apparated back to Hogwarts, I landed in the Room of Requirement, a secret place where I knew I could take care of Orla and her eggs. It was a safe and hidden space, away from prying eyes and potential danger.
I made my way to the back of the room, tapping the wall in a specific sequence that opened the door to the Vivarium.
Once I was inside, I let Tyca and Orla out of the nab-sack, feeling their powerful presence fill the air around us.
Orla looked around in wonder and amazement at the Vivarium, her eyes wide with surprise and delight. Tyca, meanwhile, seemed perfectly at home in this space, moving around with ease and confidence.
I carefully made my way over to the cave within the Vivarium, a hidden space where I knew Orla's eggs would be safe and secure.
And then, with a sense of reverence and awe, I placed the eggs inside the cave, nestling them in a soft bed of hay and moss.
For a moment, I stood there, watching over the eggs, feeling a sense of wonder at this incredible journey we had been on.
As I stood there, I couldn't help but feel a sense of compassion and curiosity for this magnificent creature.
I approached her with careful steps, not wanting to startle or alarm her.
"Orla," I said softly. "Do you mind if I ask you something?"
Orla turned to me, her eyes focused and intense.
"What happened to the father of the eggs?" I asked, my voice low and gentle.
Orla looked at me for a moment, her eyes filled with a deep sense of sadness. "He is gone," she said quietly, her voice heavy with sorrow. "He was taken by those who sought to use his powers for their own purposes. I never saw him again."
I could feel my heart pounding with sorrow and anger. To think that there were those who would harm such a majestic creature, it was unbelievable.
And then, I turned to Orla with a sense of determination in my heart.
"I won't let that happen to you or your eggs," I said, my voice firm and resolute. "You and your dragon kin have a place of honor and respect at Hogwarts, and I will do everything in my power to protect and care for you."
Orla looked at me with a sense of understanding and trust, and I knew that together we could face whatever challenges lay ahead.
As I walked around the Vivarium, enjoying the peace and tranquility that surrounded me, my mind began to wander.
I remembered the incident with Draco and Pansy, the overwhelming anger that had consumed me, the redness of my eyes.
Curiosity got the better of me, and I walked over to one of the ponds, gazing at my reflection in the still water.
But then, I noticed it. My eyes were still red, as if the anger within me had never gone away.
And then, it hit me like a bolt of lightning. All the rage and anger I had managed to suppress was back, boiling within me like a cauldron.
I was overcome with a sense of helplessness and frustration, as if I was no longer in control of my emotions. The anger coursed through my veins, filling me with a sense of madness.
I began to feel like I was losing touch with reality, like everything around me was slipping away. I could hear a voice in my head, one that urged me to lash out and hurt others.
I began to move erratically, feeling the fire within me growing ever stronger. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest, my breaths coming in short gasps.
Tyca looked at me with a sense of worry and fear in his eyes, sensing the chaos and disorder that was within me.
And then, with a mighty roar, I lashed out, my anger and frustration exploding into a frenzy of madness. Things were broken, and I had lost control of myself.
For a moment, everything seemed to slow down, as if time had stopped. But then, the chaos around me resumed, the Vivarium a scene of total devastation.
Eventually, I left the Vivarium, feeling a sense of shame and guilt wash over me, I knew that I had to find a place where I could be alone with my thoughts and regain my composure.
I made my way towards the Slytherin common room, hoping that there wouldn't be many people around.
When I entered the common room, I saw a few students playing games and chatting, but thankfully, I didn't see Pansy or Draco.
I made my way over to a quiet corner of the room, sitting down on a plush armchair. For a moment, I closed my eyes, letting out a deep breath, trying to calm my frazzled nerves. I quickly rummaged through my bag and found my colored contacts. I put them in so no one would notice my red eyes.
As I sat there, letting the thoughts in my mind settle, I knew that I had to face my emotions head-on.
I couldn't continue to let this anger burn within me, tearing me apart from the inside.
I took a deep breath and started to let the anger out of me. I knew I had been through a lot lately, and my emotions had been all over the place.
While I sat in the quiet corner of the common room, taking deep breaths and trying to calm myself down, the door opened and two of my friends, Daphne and Lily walked in.
I couldn't help but feel relieved and grateful to see them. They looked at me with a sense of concern on their faces, clearly wondering where I had been for the last few days.
"Layla, where have you been? We've been worried sick about you," Daphne said with a sense of urgency in her voice.
"I'm sorry," I responded quietly. "I needed some time alone to sort through things."
Lily gave me a sympathetic smile, sensing that something was up. She sat down next to me, putting her hand on my shoulder.
"I heard about what happened with Pansy and Draco," she said softly. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine," I lied. "Just needed some time to process everything."
Daphne and Lily exchanged a knowing look, but they didn't push any further. Instead, they sat with me for a while, talking and sharing stories, making me laugh and simply being there for me.
