Colby's POV:
I walked the short distance home with a smile. I should have met Danni when Sam did. She's perfect! God, I've never felt an instant connection with someone before. I walked slowly, kicking my feet as I thought about her. Her body, her eyes, her nose ring, her smile. I sighed, rubbing my face trying to erase her from my thoughts but it was no use. She had made a home in my mind and the longer I was away from her the harder it hurt my chest. There was a building pressure with every step I took away from her. I groaned but focused on getting in and going to bed as soon as possible so I could see her sooner. I feel like a child on Christmas Eve. I chuckled to myself but got inside. I instantly headed for my room, jogging up the steps but noticed Corey and Devyn's door was open. I looked inside, Corey's eyes instantly landed on me and he smiled. I smiled back as he gestured for me to come in.
"What's up?" I asked curiously, looking around to see Devyn sitting on the bathroom counter cleaning her makeup off. I chuckled slightly wondering if all girls did it that way.
"You and Danni seemed to hit it off," Corey smirked. His words weren't as slurred as they had been earlier but I could still hear the difference from his normal speech. I smirked trying to stop myself from chuckling. He seemed to take my smirk as an answer. "You kiss her goodnight?" He asked, his speech becoming a little more slurred as if the conversation was making him drunker.
"No," I chuckled trying with all my might to not look as disappointed as I felt. "I'm tired. I'm going to bed." I explained with a smile turning to walk away.
"Okay, but she followed me on Instagram so I'll be checking it out... Alone." He gloated, a voice of temptation. I stopped in my tracks at his words. You're telling me I can continue to admire her? I didn't even think about Social Media. Maybe I could stay a little and see more of her. What no! That's stalking. I wouldn't do that.
Before I knew it I was sat beside Corey in his bed while he laughed devilishly. He unlocked his phone as he shook his head and opened her Instagram. I tried with all my might not to smile at the sight of her but couldn't help my lips from curling. Corey began slowly scrolling through her feed but I wanted to admire every picture, every inch of her face and he was scrolling too fast. I didn't have time to memorise every freckle. I bit my tongue for as long as possible. I didn't last long, he scrolled past about 5 pictures before I swiped the phone from his hands and began scrolling for myself. Corey chuckled and seemed to snuggle into the bed more like he didn't care about staring at the angel on the screen. I studied every photo I came across. I read all of her captions and smiled at every one of them. She was perfectly beautiful in all of them. My cheeks started to ache I was smiling so much.
I felt like my eyes had turned to hearts when I saw the group of candid photo's a friend had taken of her in a cat cafe. The last post in the group was a video of her almost crying when a black, white and orange cat sat on her lap.
"I have always wanted a calico cat," She explained while her friend awed and chuckled.
"Why don't you get one?" The friend asked but Danni sighed looking sad.
"I want to move to America, I wouldn't be able to get one until after I've moved and decorated. It wouldn't be fair on the cat." She explained and instantly I took a mental note to keep an eye out for Calico cats that I could get for her. Scrolling through her posts gave me a little list of things that made her happy. She loves cats, family and friends and seems to have a favourite flavour of Monster I will have to get her. The next post was a funny video of her and a friend wearing face masks, and pyjamas and using hair brushes as microphones while they danced around and sang, momentarily taking breaks to take a sip of their wine. I looked at Corey and Devyn to see them fast asleep. I chuckled slightly before sending one of Danni's posts to myself so I could continue looking at her Instagram in my room. I put Corey's phone on charge and placed it on his bedside table before leaving. I closed the door behind me and silently skipped to my room.
I rushed to get ready for bed wanting to see more of her as soon as possible. The second I was in bed, I unlocked my phone and continued scrolling. I connected my earbuds to listen to videos quietly and soon found she was a singer and songwriter. I opened her Spotify and pressed play on her playlist. The first song to play was Choatic, her most recent song. I instantly recognised it from Corey playing it in his room which he didn't listen to much. Not only did she look like an angel but she had the voice of one too. I scrolled through her photos and listened to her music the whole night.
I woke up to turn over in my bed but grimaced when I felt something digging into my side. My phone lay haphazardly in the bed, clearly being discarded when I had fallen asleep. I had one earbud in but had lost the other somewhere in my bedding. I pulled the remaining one out and placed it on my nightstand. I looked at my phone, wincing at the brightness but smiling as I saw Danni's photo still displayed on the screen. I locked it before putting it on charge and leaving it on my nightstand beside my one earbud. I continued to smile as I thought of Danni, hoping that when I fall back asleep I'll dream of her.
