We finished with the dinner, and he showed me around the garden a little more, I could tell Kai missed his grandparents. Little did he know they were coming here tomorrow.

“It’s getting quite late but, I had one last thing in mind. If you want to” he said closing the garden door behind him. I nodded my head yes.

“I'm not that sleepy plus, its only 9.” He smiled and led us down the hallway. “What are we doing though?” I questioned. “You’ll see.”

He led us into the kitchen and turned on the lights making it dimly lit. “I thought it would be fun if we cooked together.” he said smiling sweetly. “I might burn the kitchen down” he shrugged and started getting ingredients out.

“we’ll be making some pasta, it’s easy and fun.” I nodded my head, I was really looking forward to eating it though.

I was cutting some vegetables and he was waiting for the water to boil. We were surrounded by comfortable silence.

I could feel his gaze burning holes in my head. I wasn’t paying attention and cut my hand while trying to chop the green onions. I winced and examined my hand seeing blood seep from the tiny cut.

Without warning he grabbed my hand looking at the cut and dragged me to the sink washing the blood away. “Chill, it’s just a small cut” he looked at me funny. “Well, a small cut could get bacteria in it, and your cut could get infected and then you're going to be rushed to the hospital, and they would have to amputa-” I cut him off by flicking his eyes with my finger.

“What was that for” he exclaimed with one eye closed. “You are being an idiot” he pouted looking way from me. “And you look like a pirate.” He crossed his arms and sat in the corner of the kitchen like a sulking child.

I sighed shaking my head, how old is he. I walked over to him. If he was gonna act like a child, then I'm gonna treat him like a child. Kneeling to get to his eye level I put on my, Talking to a child voice. And squished his cheeks.

“Aww, is someone a grumpy bear. What do you want, a lollipop.” He tried hiding his smile but failed terribly. Pushing me away he laughed softly. Cute.

He stood up, brushing off nonexistent dust. And walked back to the pot with a croaked smile. "Are the vegetables done.” I looked back to the half-cut vegetables, “almost, I'm close to cutting them all.” I turned around to get back to cutting but a strong vieny hand on my waist stopped me. “you’re not cutting the vegetables again you almost died last time.”

I looked at him funny “I got a cut.”

“Same thing.” I gave up and stepped away from the counter. Going to the fridge to get us some drinks. Looking around I saw some iced tea and decided on it.

The pasta was finally done, I sat on one of the stools as Kai plated the food. I got two tall cups filled with ice and started pouring the drink in.

We sat down on the stools and started eating the pasta. It's so good. I could never get bored of tasting Kai’s food.

I moaned in delight. Even though I ate a couple hours ago it was still delicious.

We finished eating and started cleaning the kitchen. After Kai washed the dishes, he turned off the lights and we headed upstairs to his bedroom.

I thought we were gonna sleep but he turned the TV on and grabbed a basket form the side table placing it on the bed, “wanna watch a movie.” Today just keeps getting better. I was a little tired but didn’t want to disappoint him, he had worked so hard. Reluctantly I nodded my head.

We were cuddled up in his bed with the basket that was filled with sweets ranging from macaroons to gummy bears. We were watching Rapunzel. I picked the movie of course.
