I open my eyes, and my head feels like it has been hit with a hammer.

Everything hurts, but at the same time, it feels like I'm numb.

"Thank God you woke up." I hear his voice.

I look at him. "What happened?" I ask.

"You were shot in your leg," Lee informs me.

"How are you feeling right now?" I hear Samuel's voice.

My head snapped towards him. I tried to smile, but my face hurt, so I just raised my eyebrows in surprise.

"Samuel?" I ask, and he smiles.

"Hi Cordelia, how are you feeling?" He asked as he started to pull out something that looked like a pen but had light coming out of it.

He checked my eyes.

"Everything is fine now. Let me explain what happened here," he begins.

"You were shot two days ago. Lee found you and brought you home. He called me, and well, I pulled the bullet out of your leg." He started to explain what medicine I should take, how many times a day I should apply it, and so on. He also said he would be visiting, so he will tell you if there is any infection.

"Will that be okay?" he asks about him coming to my home to check up on me.

"Yes, of course it's fine," I tell him.

It's not that I can't afford a doctor; it's just that they will be asking lots of questions, and I do not want to answer any of them.

"Okay, I will be leaving for now, but if you have any answers, I left my phone number next to your desk."

"Thank you, but I still have your old number if you haven't changed it," I inform him.

A smile appeared on his face, and he said, "No, I didn't change it; it's the same one."

And he left.

Leaving us in awkward silence.

"You should leave; you must have lots of work; don't waste your time here," I told Lee.

"What, how can I? You just got shot," he says surprisingly, as if wondering how I could have said that.

"Don't pretend like you care; please just get out. I can handle myself."

"Why do you have anyone who can help you—a friend, a boyfriend?" He questions, and he scoffs at the word boyfriend.

"That is none of your business."

"If that's a yes, then I will leave," he states.

I wanted to lie to him and say that I do have a boyfriend, but then he suddenly started to speak again.

"How about this? You said that I could do anything you wanted the other day, right?" he asks.

"Yes, yes I did."

"Let me take care of you, please," he begs.

What

Is he crazy?

"Nothing else?" I question.

"No, and please, if I do anything that will make you uncomfortable, just say a word."

"Fine." I don't like the idea of him taking care of me; it's not like I will let him do anything, but if we will be done after all of this, then let It be.
