"did i ever tell you how pretty you are?" he asked.
"only a million times." i giggled. "and that's only today, it must be a bijilon times if we are talking over all." i smiled.
"well you're really pretty." he said before kissing my lips so sweetly and gently.
"hudson." i called out his name when he fell into a trance while looking out in the open park. "my parents want to meet you today when you drop me off." i bit my lip. "you know how strict they are and they were insisting that it's been too long and they haven't met you. you know they have to make sure that i'm okay and i'm not just running around the city with a drug dealer."
"i— okay yeah, i'll meet them when i drop you off. it's not a problem." he smiled and looked back at the sky making his curls bounce.
"are you sure you're not freaked out? i'm sorry- i warned you about my parents being strict." i started.
"emery, it's okay. i don't mind meeting your parents tonight, better sooner than later right?" he assured me.
"okay can we just go then cause i won't be able to enjoy this date anymore thinking about you meeting my parents soon." i concluded. "i'm sorry, really i'm so sorry i don't know what's wrong with me." i sighed. it's only our second date and already messing everything up.
"hey em." he gently cupped my cheek, "come on let's go to your house, it's okay. everything will go smoothly."
i nodded and we both got in his car we drove for about five minutes before we came to a stop. "do you mind if i leave for fifteen? i'll be back before you know it."
"no yeah, you can go." i nodded.
"knock yourself out with the aux if you want." he said when he disconnected his phone. i mean if he'll be gone for fifteen, might as well just jam out. but just like he said time flew by and he came back pretty fast. i heard the trunk open then close before he opened his drivers seat door. "i got you some flowers." he gave me a small bouquet full of beautiful daisies.
"awww hudson thank you they're so pretty." i pouted, this actually made me feel so much less nervous plus the music. turns out he liked my taste in music too so he increased the volume to my playlist and we started singing along together.
fast forward to when we finally arrived at my home i unlocked the door, zaid was having his little nap and i searched for mom. i found her in the kitchen, "mama hudson is waiting outside. you said you wanted to meet him today."
"sí mi amor, llama a tu papá. me lavaré las manos." she replied. (yes my love, call your dad. i'll wash my hands)
"baba hudson bara yales yetraya haad yefthla el bab ashan mama galet lazem tgabla elyom." i switched to arabic when i approached my step dad. (dad hudson is outside waiting for someone to open the door for him, cause mama said that she has to meet him today)
"umch btsawe hafla alheen." he sighed, getting up from the couch to open the door. (your mother is going to make a party now.)
"good afternoon misses garcia and mr. mahfuood, it's really nice to meet you." hudson said as soon as my parents opened the door. in his had was a slightly bigger flower bouquet, lilies.
"ahh! hudson, we've heard so much about you but we don't see a face. how come? come in." mom welcomed him. "he's handsome and a gentleman no?" mom looked at my step father who then nodded once in approval.
"tell me, how long have you been dating my daughter?" she asked him.
"actually ma—" i started but he interrupted me. "only today ma'am."
