emery
"emery did you take my hoodie?" an annoyed billie walked into the kitchen.
"no." i shook my head. i'm trying to distract myself from her, from us. having her scent follow me everywhere isn't something i'd really like right now.
"well i can't find it, are you sure you didn't take it? it's the cream colored one that has small printed texts on the back." she said.
"no billie, i didn't take it." i said while i grabbed the baking tray to put the batter i've been working on in.
"the room is a mess." she sighed walking back into the hallway. it's not my problem that the room is a mess, she says it as if i'm the one that made it a mess. i haven't been in there at all, even one of my boxes relocated to finneas' room.
"oh it smells magnificent in here!" maggie walked into the front door a while after i put the cake in the oven and started prepping the toppings.
"the cake is in the oven." i smiled.
"where's billie? i assumed she'd be baking with you." maggie frowned as she hugged me.
"she's working on her music." i lied. "besides i liked the peace and not having someone judge the way i did things in the kitchen."
"ugh the worst thing." she agreed. "do you need any help?" she asked.
"oh no, i'm good." i shook my head. "the cake should be done in a few minutes and i'll have to wait for it to cool down a bit. but do you need help unloading the groceries?" i immediately started taking out the stuff from the bag.
"yeah, it'd be nice to have a helping hand."

"emery, can you take your things and at least tidy them up? they're all over the place." billie walked into finneas' room.
"sure." i didn't want to argue.
the room was a mess. i know i didn't leave it like that. she made it a mess, and she blames me for it. just like she associates anything negative with me lately. it's not fair. she wasn't like that.
"some of your clothes are under the bed." she said.
"what are they doing there?" i frowned and took them out.
"i don't know ask yourself."
"you know, i noticed something." i blinked, she was listening. "you haven't actually talked to me in days and then you talk to me, but only to tell me to clean up a room i didn't make messy. you did this billie, now why? i don't know. but i'm getting so sick of this, always having to clutch my heart because i know it might break at any given moment."
"it's your stuff."
"that you messed up! i haven't been in here for days! have you noticed that?" i got so aggravated from her tone.
"of course i noticed that." she looked at me like a was stupid.
"i should've known better. everyone tried to warn me, maybe i should've listened to them." i chuckled at the stupidity of me. "my life would've been so much better if you never entered it. i lost everything. and you know what? i deserve it, i had hope in us. i feel so stupid, so fucking stupid." i hit my head.
"you don't mean that." she let out a breath.
"no i do, i mean it." i shook my head. "i also don't get why you didn't let me continue what i was going to say the other day, when you act like i'm not even there! you make me feel like shit, you treat me like cow's shit."
