"mama meave yaya baad shway, ahbech." i yelled while i was at the front door. "take care!" she yelled after me. i'm not actually leaving with meave, i'm leaving with hudson. she thinks i'm having another sleepover with meave, but actually i have a date at the ice rink and then we're staying at a hotel nearby.
i'm ready, just in case it does happen. "hey." i said as i sat in the passenger seat after throwing my bag in the back seat.
"hi pretty, i missed you." he smiled and pecked my cheek.
"i missed you too." i smiled. "drive away, i don't want them seeing your car!" i said.
"okay." he chuckled and drove away. "it's a fourty minute drive, so feel free to say if you're hungry, there are plenty of gas stations on our way."
"okay." i nodded. i can't stop thinking about the hotel room, we are going to be sleeping in the same bed. and i have condoms, plural cause what if one breaks or one doesn't fit or whatever, i needed multiple. i'm not trying to get pregnant, and can i get the morning after pill just in case? or is that stupid?
"hey do you want to listen to music?" he held the aux cord.
"yeah sure." i nodded and plugged my phone in.
"everything okay?" he sweetly asked.
"yeah everything's okay." i nodded and clicked on our playlist. i've collected all the songs that hudson and i seem to enjoy in one place just for when i ride with him. "i just hope i don't fall a thousand times in the ring."
"you won't, i'll hold your hand if you're scared." he replied. "you're a smart girl you'll get the hang of it pretty quickly."
"yeah i guess." maybe i'll get the hang of it pretty quickly. meave said that at first it may be uncomfortable but then you slowly start to enjoy yourself.
"em." hudson's voice said, i fluttered my eyes open, looking around me, very confused. "wake up, we're here."
"i'm so sorry i fell asleep." i said, trying my very best not to rub my eyes. i have makeup on.
"it's okay, it looked like you needed it." he replied. "come on out, i already grabbed your jacket." he held my hand out the car and into the building. we went in line and payed for our tickets, got our skates and moved to separate locker rooms. the girls locker room was filled with teenagers and middle schoolers, i think the place is offering discounts for certain schools today and that's why.
"do you mind me siting here to put on my skates? it's too chaotic there." she pointed at all the other sections of the locker room.
"yeah i don't mind." i took my jacket out of the way and she sat next to me.
"are you here alone?" she asked.
"oh no i'm with my boyfriend, he's in the boys locker room." i explained.
"really? i imagined you as this figure skater girl that's here to practice on a busy day or something." she said.
"no no, i'm the least athletic person you'll ever meet. i don't even know how to skate, i'm here to learn." i laughed at how wrong she is.
"hey i'm not that good either." she put her hands up.
"me struggling to put this on should indicate how much i really don't know what i'm doing." now i laughed at myself, while struggling to fasten up the skating shoe.
"i got you." the girl said and helped me out on the skates. "all done." we made eye contact, i've never imagined someone with eyes like mine could have such a captivating look.
