Miran had woken up earlier and had finished her morning routine since the schedule said it was her turn to make breakfast with Hoseok who had yet to wake up.
She sat on the corner of her bed looking to his side, thinking about when he would wake up but as the minutes ticked by and no alarm clock went off or anything she decided to get up and take two steps into his space before calling his name.
"Hoseok. Hoseok wake up" She raised her tone of voice a little and by the time he opened his eyes, Hoseok had jumped up and was looking around with a nervous look on his face.
"What? Am I late for work?!" He asked her in a panic and Miran tried to cover her laughter at that moment since she thought it was a bit funny.
"You are super late! It's noon, I just got back." She answered him with a serious look, making Hoseok's eyes pop wide.
"What!! HOLY!" He yelled out before he started going here and there around the room until he reached into his closet and grabbed whatever he could find to change. Miran left him to his doom and walked out of the room, giggling to herself at the joke she was playing on him, which he would soon have to realize.
She reached the kitchen and casually started pulling ingredients out of the fridge, thinking about making an omelette while counting the minutes in her head, waiting to hear Hoseok's voice calling her soon, and he did.
"That wasn't funny at all, what you did, was cruel!" He told her as he entered the kitchen with a gaze full of complaint and annoyance that made Miran smile instead of feeling bad.
"I'm sorry, but you made me ten minutes late on schedule. I can't risk Eleon finding out I'm not doing my duties, you know." She answered him honestly as she was now searching the shelves for a bowl.
"I seriously don't understand, why are you all so afraid of her?" Hoseok asked his question as a yawn left his lips which he quickly covered with his hand.
"It's not rocket science. Eleon knows everything about all of us, we've grown up under her care and attention. Since mom was often away due to work, especially after dad died the expenses were harder to keep up. Eleon was the oldest so she was the one who supported Mom in every way possible. Plus she's strict and not to be trifled with. "Miran started talking without thinking much about what information she was spilling. She didn't know if her words were unnecessary or if it wouldn't even pique his interest, but at least she answered him no matter how inappropriately she said it since even she wasn't sure of the exact reason that their fear towards Eleon had grown so much. It was just that they had grown up in such a setting and they had been brought up to fear her. Eleon had made sure that they would with her own two hands.
"I see. Then it's not exactly fear. It's respect." Hoseok told her before taking two eggs in his hands and looking around to find where Miran had left the recipe.
"Where's the recipe?" He asked her before she could say anything and Miran just smiled once more before taking the eggs from his hands.
"Easy, I don't need it. I've seen others making an omelette so many times. Just do what I do" She told him confidently and Hoseok gave her a look of doubt before deciding to go with her words.
---Time skip ---
Jin was the first to enter the living room which for some reason smelled like something was burning up.
"Did you burn something? "He asked Miran and Hoseok directly who seemed to be setting the table quietly.
"What? Of course not. We just forgot to turn up the... That thing that draws the smoke in... Yeah, that." Hoseok replied and the way he spoke seemed highly suspicious to Jin.
"Ah, yes. It looks nice what you've prepared though, eh? Well done." Jin pretended to believe them and took his seat at the table, while out of the corner of his eye, he caught his brother and Miran exchanging some curious glances.
Something tells me that if I look in the trash I'll find discarded delivery boxes.
Jin thought and laughed a little, as he proceeded to imagine them panicking in the kitchen. What a shame he didn't wake up earlier to see it with his own eyes.
"Good morning" Eleon's voice caught their attention and they all looked towards her who was dressed in her uniform. For the two boys, this was the first time they had seen her in her police uniform, since yesterday when they woke up, Eleon had already left.
"Good-good morning," Jin replied, finding it hard to speak for some reason in the face of what was a somewhat intimidating sight, even though Eleon was just standing there, her gun holstered and her police blue uniform hat in her right hand.
"Unfortunately, I will not join you at breakfast. I hope you all have a good day." She told them monotonously as always before walking away, leaving the rest of them in a cold atmosphere until she closed the door behind her and Namjoon appeared on the staircase.
"Ufff she is finally gone. Ahh, I can finally breathe now. "Namjoon exclaimed and took a deep breath as he walked down the stairs.
"Don't tell me you were hiding?" Hoseok asked him, laughing as he totally considered Namjoon capable of doing that just to avoid her.
"Drop it, I don't want to talk about it," Namjoon replied, frowning as he took his seat at the table and Jin just looked at him, expecting him to burst out at any moment.
"You slept well, I see. Fresh fresh fresh." Jin mocked as the dark circles under Namjoon's eyes were obvious.
"Cut it out! I went out on the balcony yesterday night for some air and somehow I shut myself outside! The door wasn't opening! I knocked on the window and she didn't even move! Do you mean to tell me that she wakes up the moment I put my foot over the line but not when someone bangs on the glass like a madman? SHE LEFT ME OUT ON PURPOSE HYUNG. "Namjoon complained and ended up banging the table a few times out of desperation and nerves.
Hoseok meanwhile had thrown himself on the kitchen counter and was laughing, making Jin lose his seriousness as well.
"What are you laughing at? Here I tell you she left me out in the cold! Only this morning she let me in again!"
"And you didn't ask her why she didn't let you in or why she couldn't hear you?" Jin told him once he managed to tame his laughter a little.
"I asked her and she said it was my decision to go out at such a late hour and it's my responsibility to make sure of my surroundings and myself. If I'm not able to take care of my own actions then how am I going to survive in society?" Namjoon reproduced Eleon's words in the same monotone way she speaks and his brothers started laughing again.
"Hey, look, she's got a point, though. Good morning "Yoongi spoke as he approached the table, having heard Namjoon's words.
"The truth is that this is Eleon's way of teaching you lessons. For your own good, as she says." Miran intervened and Namjoon just clamped his mouth shut to keep the cursing words that almost escaped from him.
"Come on, come on. Look at the positive side. At least, no matter what, she is not someone that would get involved in your personal life." Jin told him and Namjoon gave him an irritated look with his mouth agape and then he swallowed quickly and stood up from his seat.
"Yeah, sure, I might as well thank her for letting me locked out of my own room for six hours! "He spat sarcastically and left, making sure to slam the door to his room as soon as he entered.
Full of nerves, he walked around before his gaze got fixed on Eleon's bed which was perfectly made.
There has to be something that can corner her. Some secret of hers or weakness that if I knew of, I could have the upper hand with her.
He thought, and other such thoughts followed immediately after while his nerves were still on edge.
I'll find it. No matter what it takes, I will. And then we'll see how calm you will be, Miss Perfect.
