Taehyung had just arrived at the door of Irine's apartment, a little nervous about her response but also about whether the others believed the excuse he gave them before he gave up the games and left the house.
After all, it was rare for him to have forgotten that he had a night shoot as he claimed and then lounged and dressed up accordingly to be believable.
He didn't seem to have been disbelieved but due to stress he overthought things and as a result, he spend all the way from his home to her apartment, talking to himself.
As he stood in front of her door though he had to pull himself together and not look as anxious or desperate for her to accept him as he was since the truth was that Irine was a girl who had caught his attention after a long period of loneliness.
So he rang the bell after taking a deep breath and Irine took a moment to answer it, making him wonder if she had gone to bed, bearing in mind that it was almost midnight, but luckily for him, that thought was erased once she was finally standing in front of him.
"Good evening," He told her with a small smile that was a little awkward and she looked all over his face too before allowing him to come in.
"I'm sorry if I'm late. I tried to arrive as fast as I could." He told her as he walked further in and Irine just played with her hands that were starting to sweat nervously.
"He didn't have to come, I was going to tell you over the phone you know." She replied as the two of them now took a seat on her couch.
"I prefer to be face to face. Because if you say yes, I'll want to kiss you." He explained to her completely straightforwardly and Irine stood up, instantly changing the conversation.
"Can I offer you something? A drink, a juice, a dessert?" She suggested especially the last one, thinking that he would need it after the negative answer she intended to give him.
"No thanks. Just sit down and tell me about your decision, please. It may not seem like it, but I'm a little anxious. "He answered her honestly, which only made the situation worse for Irine who even though she had intended to give him a negative answer, now that she had him in front of her, it was a little difficult.
The way he was looking at her, with a hopeful look in his eyes and a positive expression on his face, was honestly like he was pinning her to the wall, locking her in a corner where on one side was her uncertainty about this decision and on the other side was the fear of how he might react to her answer.
"Look, I've given it a lot of thought. You're friendly and I like you surely, that's not up for discussion. I feel comfortable in your presence the truth is ..." Irene started to take it easy on him, thinking that this way he wouldn't take it so much to heart, but her words filled Taehyung with pleasure and confidence that she would say yes.
"I would in no way wish to sadden you nor do I have anything specific against you... My answer is no. "Irine finally managed to get it out but Taehyung's lips were on hers before he even realized what she had said.
"Whoa hold up! No?" He broke off the kiss instantly which started in the impetuous thought that she would say yes and her true words were slow to register in his mind, putting him in this awkward position.
"Uhm, a thousand apologies. I didn't -, I thought you'd say yes and you were listing positive things and I kissed you, I'm so sorry" He panicked but as he noticed how frozen in place Irine was left, he just felt even worse.
"I'll fix it, I'll take it back." He said before he pecked her lips again quickly, pretending that the kiss he gave her was back on his lips now.
"Here, it's back on my lips now. It's back... As if it didn't happen?" He told her now wanting the earth to open up and swallow him, for he understood that he was making one mistake after the other because of his nervousness and embarrassment.
