It's like a stampede when schools out, students going to the same spot as they get to the doors. Sam both hates and loves this time of day because schools finally out and he can finally relax, however, that means he goes back home. He also hates it because he's always being trampled, though, he's almost became an expert at dodging all the bodies.

He supposes he ultimately hates it.

When approaching the exit he freezes, gazing out the windows seeing that it's still pouring out, sky grey and sad. Hands are placed on his shoulders and he jumps "hey" Colby chuckles "sorry, didn't mean to scare you" he grins, arm wrapping around his shoulders.

Sam hums quietly not able to help the smile that rises to his lips when seeing his hand that drapes down his chest still cladded with the bracelet "you drive today?"

"I did" he murmurs, hand going up to show the keys that are gently balled in his hand "then what're you waiting for? Let's get outta here."

Sam barely has time to pull up his hood as he drags him out and he's being met with powerful winds and cold water drops.

Sam let's out a high pitched gasp as lightening pulses through the sky, thunder following soon after and he's running towards his car, not caring about the fact he's tugging Colby along.

Colby laughs, tugging the boy to his side "watch out!" He gasps, arms cradling his head as he blocks him from both the rain and the incoming car making Sam laugh and face flush at the closeness of the other even while they continue running once the car is finally out of their path.

They run, Colbys hand on Sam's head and Sam holding onto it with both his own, giggling about nothing in particular as they run about in the rain, cautious of the puddles of water.

Getting to Sam's car he unlocks it, shoving his bag into his backseat before he's getting in the driver's seat. Colby leans down, hand on the roof of the car as he uses it to hold himself up "you wanna come over?" He offers, a smile on his lips still.

Sam hesitates to answer, heart thumping in his chest "just a few hours is fine" the blonde wracks his mind for an answer, he's never been invited to someone's house before and it almost excites him, he always dreamt of the day to come but now that it's here he doesn't know.

Of course he'd love to come over but at the same time it seems like torture, what do they do? Does he bring anything? And God, don't get him started on sleep overs.

"I uh- I probably shouldn't" he murmurs, gaze falling as he remembers how his mother is, no way in a million years will she let him do something like that, god forbid him to have a good time.

"Hm. Alright, that's okay" Colby gives him a reassuring smile "maybe this weekend?" He asks "you can sleep over- if it's okay" Sam nods slowly, blush rising to his cheeks "maybe" I hope. Even if it makes him nervous at the thought it's one thing that he wishes to experience.

"Great. Just let me know, you can come over after school Friday" Sams heart skips a beat. Friday.. that's in two days.

"I'm gonna go now. I'm getting drenched, see you tomorrow" Sam gapes, letting out a small laugh as he raises to stand straight and he closes his door for him, turning to him and giving him a wave before he's jogging towards his car quickly and Sam almost feels bad as he goes the direction they ran from.

He starts his car with a smile on his face, it almost feels like a dream. He hasn't felt this happy in years and he wishes it won't go away. Buckling up he begins to drive, once getting to the main road a honk sounds loudly and Sam looks over seeing Colby on the opposite road and he offers him a wave as he makes a turn, Sam smiles as he turns himself.

He can't help but think that maybe, just maybe Colby is just what he needed.
