Release.

"Rachel," tawag ni Beta Ross sa akin.

Gusto kong sundan ang babae papuntang gubat. Ngayon ko lang siya nakita. Alam kong hindi siya taga dito. Hindi siya isang Royal werewolf. Hindi rin siya galing sa pack namin.

May ibang mga bisita na galing sa iba't ibang pack. Baka isa lang siya sa mga anak o asawa ng mga Alpha na bisita dito. Pero bakit tumakbo siya papunta sa gubat?

"Hinahanap ka ni Punong Simon," sabi ni Beta Ross sa akin.

I was still looking at the forest where the girl went. She didn't change, though. She just ran and then sped away like Flash. Kaya nakatingin na rin si Beta Ross sa tinitingnan ko.

"Nakita mo yun?" I asked Beta.

"No... anong nakita mo?"

"Isang babae. Maganda. Tumakbo siya papuntang banda 'ron."

"Baka bisita lang at gustong mag-explore. Don't worry, our K9's are in their designated place. Walang maliligaw ngayon," he explained.

Hindi ko nalang rin binahala ang nakita ko kanina. Beta Ross escorted me to my Lolo, who was sitting in the sunroom. Umalis rin siya pagkapasok ko sa kwarto kasama ang Lolo ko.

"Hi," I started.

He was just sitting on the couch with his legs crossed and the coffeepot on the table.

"Hello, apo." He smiled. His face was so light, and I knew he was happy and well.

"Why are you alone here? Your business partners and friends are there," sabay lingon ko sa labas ng kwarto.

"I just want my one and only apo for the time being." His wrinkles showed every time his eyes narrowed and his face stretched for a smile.

He took his cup and sipped his coffee. The aroma of his coffee filled the room.

I walked to the countertop and got my own cup for my coffee. I poured coffee into the cup and smelled the aroma.

"I just took 2 shots of champagne earlier. So, allow me to just smell the aroma of your black coffee."

I could hear him chuckle. "It's Arabica beans... Taste it. It won't harm you."

He was right. So, I sipped some coffee from my cup.

The bittersweet taste of my coffee was delightful. The warm coffee ran down my throat.

"See? Don't overthink too much," he calmly said.

I gave him a little smile.

"Can I ask something?" I asked.

"Sure, baby."

I swallowed. I was not nervous, but I was preparing myself for whatever his answer would be.

"Why did you choose Kessler to be my partner?"

He smirked. "I did not; it's the moon goddess who did the pairing."

"Oh! C'mon, Lolo... you know what I mean. You tried to partner us before you knew that we were mates."

In a couple of minutes, silence passed.

"Because I know he can protect you," salita ni Lolo makalipas ang ilang segundo.

"I have known him for years. Ako ang nagtuturo sa kanya sa halos lahat. To be a good leader, paano maging halimaw sa negosyo, kung paano niya dadalhin ang emosyon niya, kung paano hindi dapat magpakain sa pera at sa kapangyarihan, kung paano kilalanin ang kaaway at hindi kaaway."
