Chapter 1

Mate

Wearing red stilettos and a little black dress with my ponytail hairdo on. I believe that I was attractive tonight. Dalawang oras akong nagpaganda at naghanda para lang sa gabing ito.

I went inside to the alcology club, alone, I wanted to get drunk, and if I could flirt with someone tonight that would be perfect.

I swayed to the bar side, pulled a high chair, and I sat with my legs crossed. I ordered tequila sunrise, and while waiting for the bartender to complete my order, I looked around.

People are busy with their tables. Talking, drinking, laughing, flirting and kissing, the others are dancing on the dance floor pero ka unti pa lang silang sumasayaw, seguro dahil maaga pa.

This is not my first time, I have been clubbing in the US several times, just because my best friend was a socialite and she always dragged me to accompany her. Kaya, hindi na ako na iignoranti sa ganitong lugar pero sa totoo lang, hindi pa rin ako sanay makikisalamuha sa ibang tao.

I sip a little on my tequila ng ibinigay sa akin ng bartender trying to appreciate the party people and the booze. The electrolights dance along with the music.

Hindi ako kaagad mapapansin ng mga tao dito, sinasadya kung dito umupo. I am at the corner of the barside. Dahil gusto ko ako ang pipili sa lalaking magustuhan ko talaga.

I traveled my vision to the group of humans but "ah~uh" still, wala akong nagustohan. Sa kabilang table naman they are werewolves like me, I can smell them. However, they are too young for me. Parang kakagraduate lang ata nila ng Grade 12. Dito naman malapit sa comfort room they are not humans, I knew, because they don't smell like a human.

I sip again on my tequila sunrise at nakakalahati na ako. I think I am already tipsy at midyo umiikot na ang paningin ko.

"Shit!"

This is crazy, nakakahibang naman talaga. Kailangan kong makahanap ng lalaki ngayun mortal man o immortal. Para mapakilala ko kay Lolo bilang boyfriend ko, dahil kung wala, isang business tycoon ang e ipakilala sa akin at ipilit na maging kapareha.

Hindi pa ako handa, atleast kung may ipakilala ako sa kanya bilang boyfriend ko atleast ma di delay yung irereto niya sa akin.

Fuck! businessman pareho lang silang lahat. Name it.. arrogant, dominant, dictator, selfish, self-centered, gosh name it all.. argh! Nasapo ko ang ulo ko kasi medyo mabigat na, hindi ko alam kung sa iniisip na ayaw ko sa mga businessman o mga bigating tao sa mundong to' o natamaan na ako sa iniinom ko.

Gusto ko lang simpling tao o kung immortal man, yung hindi kagaya ng lolo ko na puro business, power at pagpaparami lang ng pera ang iniisip.

I never thought of a mate, but who knows tonight?

Naisip ko paano kung buhay pa si mama at papa hanggang ngayun? What would my life be like?

They died in a car accident 10 years ago. Si Lolo Simon na ang nag papalaki sa akin simula noon, kasabay ang pag ti-train niya sa akin sa company. When I turned 18 he transferred the ownership to me.

Years later, I went abroad to take a master's degree in business and enhance my art in Jewelry. Nung nakabalik na ako dito sa Pilipinas, nasa negosyo naman ang lahat ng oras ko. Nakalimutan kung my sarili rin pa lang akong buhay. Nahawa rin tuloy ako kay lolo.

"Take a vacation Rachel you have successfully made the company on top. We won't lose a little cent if you take a vacation even a year". Sabi ni lolo.

"Fine, just 5 days then, I need to get back as soon as possible. I can't take the risk". I said.
