"We need to think about the rest of the group, Rick." Shane said in a hushed tone. Rick and he were standing in the kitchen. "We can't keep wasting our resources on finding these people."
Rick listened; his arms crossed over his chest. His back pressed into the edge of the counter.
"We're wasting manpower and supplies."
Rick shifted from one foot to the other. "Maybe but it's for a good cause."
"Good cause? Thats bullshit and you know it!" Shane leaned in closer.
"If it weren't for Willow Carl would be dead. We would have had to bury him." Rick pushed past Shane, making his way to the doorway to leave. "We need her and that's final." The sheriff glanced back to his friend. "I won't have this conversation again. She stays and we'll do whatever to keep her." Rick exited the kitchen leaving a fuming Shane behind.
"So, you hold the knife like this." Willow fixed Carl's hand that was wrapped around the end of a knife. "There ya go. Now pretend that's a walker." She said tapping a bale of hay. "Head shot is what takes them down."
"Okay. Head got it." Carl nods, pulling his arm back. He brings his arm down and before he can land his first killing blow to the bale of hay the knife is knocked from his grasp.
"What the hell are you doing?" Shane cries out, the knife that Willow had given Carl now in his hand.
"Carl asked me to teach him." Willow shrugged nonchalantly. "Kid wanted to learn."
"And you think you have the right to teach him?" Shane's eyes narrowed.
"No, but I figured what was the harm. We aren't wasting ammunition, we're not making noise, and we're not bothering anyone." Willow took a seat on the bale of hay.
"Carl, go find your mom. She's lookin for you." Shane nudged the boy towards the opposite direction.
"But uncle Shane-" Carl whined.
"Now Carl." Shane pushed him forward.
Shane waited until Carl was out of ear shot and tossed the knife beside Willow's foot.
"You really are testing me, aren't you? You have no right to be anywhere near that boy." Shane gritted out. "No right to teach him or talk to him. You aren't part of this group."
Willow cupped her hands around her eyes to block the sun. "Everyone but you want me here."
Shane stepped closer. "I don't trust you."
"You don't trust me?" She scoffed. "Look honey...I'm not going anywhere." She stood from the block of hay. "So, I suggest for the sake of the group that you stop your little bitch fit and grow up." And with that Willow pushed past him.
She could feel his eyes boring into the back of her skull, probably wishing she was dead right now.
"You make a decision yet?" Willow asked, closing the bathroom door shut behind her.
Lori sat on the toilet, her head in her hands. "No."
"Well, the clock's ticking Lori. Gotta figure something out. The longer you wait the harder it'll be." Willow set on the edge of the bathtub. "Don't think about what Rick or Shane would say. Do what you feel is right."
