I got to the door to see saw Charlie and his mom standing there. "C-Charlie? What are you doing here?" I asked. Charlie started to walk towards me but my dad stopped him from getting too close. "That's close enough." My dad said. Charlie's face looked a little hurt.
"Eve, I'm really sorry about last night I fell asleep, sorry for pushing you to come come over, you might not have even wanted to come, and I got you in trouble with your parents and I'm so sorry." Charlie said.
I knew my dad was going to be mad at me for this. Ran up to Charlie and gave him a big hug. "It's not what you're thinking, after i picked them up from the restaurant i told Evelyn that she should come to our house to stay to watch a movie, they fell asleep on the sofa." Charlie's mom explained.
"Well that's good to hear, Eve your Father and I are very sorry for overreacting." My mom apologized. My dad pulled my phone out of his pocket and handed it to me. "Thank you."
"Well, we should be heading out now." "Why don't you guys stay for breakfast? We have to leave for work soon. We would love to have you." My mom said. "I'm sorry I have to get to work but Charlie can stay." Charlie's mom said.
For probably about 20 minutes our moms were talking. But my dad wouldn't stop giving Charlie a nasty glare the whole time we were eating.
I was drinking some orange juice. "So have you guys kissed yet." My little brother asked. That caught me off guard. I started choking on the orange juice. *cough* *cough*. I covered my mouth with my hand to try to stop myself from coughing anymore. "You ok?" Charlie asked.
"Never better- just got caught off guard." I said. My dad looked at me. "Telling by that reaction it's true isn't it?" My dad asked. "No no no dad it's not what you think nothing happened we aren't dating." I said. I was afraid that saying that would make Charlie think I wouldn't wanna date him which I Definitely did.
My dad didn't say anything for the rest of breakfast. My brother looked a bit disappointed. I quickly got up and got some paper towels to clean up the mess I had made. "Here let me help you." Charlie said. "No no, it's fine it's just a little." I said. I wiped up the orange juice and tossed the wet paper towel in the trash.
"Dad look at the time, your going to be late for work." I said. "Oh shoot! Can't wait to get rid of me huh?" My dad said. "Maybe just a little" I replied jokingly. My dad scrambled to get his stuff for work. "Bye honey, I gonna go to work." My dad said. "Have great day at work darling." My mom said.
"Charlie don't be doing anything to my daughter well I'm gone now or your gonna hear from me." My dad threaten. "I won't sir." Charlie said. "Good boy." That was the last thing my dad said before he left. "Don't worry about him charlie, he's just protective of his little girl." My mom said.
"Mom I'm not so little anymore I'm 17 now." "Your still a little girl in are eyes, because you'll always be our little girl." That's so embarrassing and In front of Charlie. I didn't say anything about it though. I looked over at Charlie's plate. He had finished everything on his plate.
I got up and grabbed both of our empty plates and put them into the sink. Everyone else was finished as well. I started to pick up all the plates from breakfast. Charlie grabbed one of the plates right as I was. "What are you doing?" I asked. "Helping you what else does it look like?"
"It's fine sit down I got this I do this every morning." "Well it will go faster with two people." "Fine but try not to break a plate." "Break a plate? There plastic it would be pretty hard to break a plastic plate." "But you would still find a way wouldn't you?" "Wow, you don't believe in me at all do you?" "Nope! Not at all." "Ok then, I will just have to prove you wrong."
We gathered all the dishes and put them into the sink. I turned on the water and grabbed the soap and sponge. "You sure you can do this part?" "Yes, I can wash dishes, I have washed dishes before." "Ok then, here's a sponge get scrubbing."
My mom walked over to me and kissed me on the forehead. "Bye honey I have to head over to work now, don't forgot to do your chores and make sure your brother does his as well , it was nice meeting you charlie." My mom said. "It was nice meeting you too miss um Evelyn's mom." My mom smiled and then left for work.
