Chapter #2 Double date

     Sarah wanted to go on a double date. Sarah her boyfriend Zach, Charlie and i were all meeting for dinner at 6:00 but I got there a little early just in case. The place was a bit fancy so Sarah told me to dress nicely. I waited outside for like five minutes before I saw charlie. 

     I really wanted to run up to him and hug him tight but i didn't want to weird him out so i just waved. Charlie waved back and smiled. Man his smile is dreamy. He just looked so handsome in his suit with no tie but his white undershirt wasn't buttoned up all the way and I could see a bit of his chest.

     "Hey, you're here early." Charlie said. Shoot I didn't realize how close he had gotten. I hope he didn't see me staring. I felt my face get red again. "Hey, are you ok? You look a little red." "Yeah i'm fine nothing to worry about."

     "Well that's good to hear, but anyways you look nice." "Thanks, you look really handsome yourself" i had completely forgotten about the dress i was wearing Sarah made me wear one of her old dresses that didn't fit anymore. I'm small for my age, I'm underweight and really short. The dress was red and very low cut with an opening in the back.

     "Hey, I'm so glad you guys came. I was starting to think I scared you off." Sarah said. Her and Zach had just arrived. Zach was really tall, taller than charlie. Zach kinda scared me. He had tattoos, a nose ring, earring and was a big guy. If he wanted to, he could flick me to china. 

     "Zach, you already know Charlie and this is my friend Evelyn." Sarah pulled me closer to Zach which scared the heck out of me but i tried not to show it. "Nice to meet you," He said. He reached out his hand for me to shake it. I reached out my hand to him to shake hands "It's nice to meet you too." I said. I smiled at him then made my way right back to Charlie's side.

     Charlie looked at me and then leaned down and whispered in my ear. "Looked like you were terrified of him." "Was I that obvious?" I whispered back. That made Charlie laugh. "Don't worry, I will protect you." "You versus him? You're going down." "Hey! You don't think I stand a chance with all these muscles?" "What muscles?" "Wow, I'm deeply hurt by that." I couldn't help but laugh.

    "Guys! Our table is ready, come on!" Sarah yelled at us. Charlie grabbed the door and opened it for me "Ladies first." "Oh, why thank you sir." I smiled at him and he smiled back. We sat down at our table. I was sitting next to Charlie and was sitting across from Sarah.

     It was a nice restaurant. The food was pricey. I had no idea what to get. Everything was so big. I know i won't eat it all i don't wanna waste it plus the price. "Evelyn wanna get something to share? The proportions are pretty big." It felt like he could read my mind.

     "Sure, what should we order?" We ended up ordering some spaghetti. I got a salad as an appetizer. And the table had calamari. I'm not a big fan of salad but I had to eat it because I got spaghetti. 

     "Evelyn you should try this, it's really good." "Thanks charlie, but i'm good with my salad you guys eat it." I smiled. "Does it bother you that it's fried squid?" Charlie asked. "What? No- wait, it's fried squid?!" "Now you're really not going to try it huh?" "Fine ,if it means that much to you."

     I picked up a small piece of calamari. It looked so good, plus it smelled amazing.i put it into my mouth and man was it good i wanted to eat more but i knew i couldn't. I don't wanna gain weight. The spaghetti is my treat for tonight. I can't have any more of this even though it tastes so good. "So how is it?" Charlie asked. I could see Sarah and Zach staring at me waiting for my answer.

     "It's really good, thank you." I smiled at Charlie again. "So are you going to have another?" Charlie asked me. "No, only one is good for me. I have my salad." "Ok then." The table went silent.
