"Charlie asked me to be his girlfriend." "You said yes right?" "Of course I said yes." Sarah squealed while wrapping her arms around me tightly squeezing all the air out of my lungs.
"You finally have a boyfriend." When she removed her arms from around me I could finally breathe again. "Welcome to being a teenage girl." Sarah tells me with a grin on her face.
"Very funny. Having a boyfriend doesn't mean everything. I'm still a normal teenager even without a boyfriend." I shrugged my shoulders while speaking to her.
We talked for hours. I filled her in on some of the details from earlier, just not too much detail. Sarah made us watch another cheesy romance movie. George and Matt came down stairs to join us. It was starting to get late. My parents love to just never come home anymore. I checked my phone to see if I had any messages from either of them. Nothing. They're probably just working late but can't be bothered to text their children that they won't be home for dinner.
"What do you guys think about pizza?" I asked the room full of hungry children that I need to feed. "That sounds great!" George practically jumped out of his seat, scaring poor Matt waking him from his slumber. "Shh baby, calm down." Matt cooed George while tugging on his waist to pull him back onto the recliner chair they were both sitting on together. Sarah and I both snapped our heads towards Matt. I watched as George's face became beat red while Matt's face was also a little flushed but not as red as George's. The couple was clearly embarrassed. Matt probably forgot that we were in the room. Plus he was just dead asleep. Poor kid. I wonder if he has trouble sleeping or something. Maybe he has a bad situation at home. He does tend to hang around here a lot lately. It might just be something simpler like his parents don't know he's gay so he'd rather hang here to be with George and be able to be close like this without parent judgment. I think way too much about things that don't really matter to me. While I do care about Matt and I hope things are ok at home and everything but it's not something I have to worry about I guess.
"Don't worry. We could care less about it." Sarah tries to make the boys less embarrassed. "So George seems to like the idea of pizza. What about you Matt?" Matt opened his mouth to answer but Sarah cut him off before any words came out. "Hey, what about me? Aren't you gonna ask how I feel about pizza?" Sarah huffed dramatically.
"That's because I know you love pizza. You want pepperoni on your pizza right?" I crossed my arms to match her dramatic energy. "That sounds right. You know me so well." I roll my eyes at her but I can't help but smile a little. I do know her well. She's my best friend.
"Sorry Matt, do you like pizza and what kind?" I ask Matt again. George was now back in Matt's lap. "Yeah I like pizza. I'll have pepperoni." "Ok I'll order the pizza." I got up from the couch and stepped into the living room for some quiet while I ordered the pizza. Since everyone including myself likes pepperoni I decided to just order one large pepperoni pizza for us all to share. After ordering the pizza I sat back down on the couch next to Sarah.
In the time that Sarah has been here we've watched like 4 of these cheesy romance movies. And in each movie the girl falls deeply in love with the guy and spends all her time with him forgetting all about her friends or losing friends due to him. So then when she's having problems with him she has no one to turn to because she lost all her friends due to some guy. "When will the girl learn not to put her boyfriend before her friends?" I comment out loud. Sarah looks at me and laughs.
"What's so funny?" I playfully push her. "Nothing, just the fact that you say that now having never had a boyfriend." "Well you have a boyfriend but you've never put a guy before me." "That's true, but most of my relationships are mainly just hookups, nothing too serious."
That is true about Sarah, she tends to jump from guy to guy. I guess since she knows that it's not gonna work out so she never puts a guy before me. "I guess that's true." I sigh in defeat. I really don't know.
"You'll find out soon enough with Charlie since you guys are together now.""What?!" George's head shot up from where it was lying on Matt's chest a few seconds ago.
"Oh you didn't tell him." Sarah's face looked guilty for slipping my news to George before I could tell him myself. "I was going to tell you I just forgot. It happened today when he came over and he asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes." I quickly tried to explain myself.
"Even though it's ok, I am a little disappointed that you didn't tell me right away but I understand." George's voice was calm as he spoke. I felt a small wave of relief.
"And to be fair I didn't tell you about me and Matt right away." "Matt and I." I corrected him. "Whatever!" He rolled his eyes at me then laid back down on Matt's chest. While still pouting until Matt kissed George on the forehead. George's face lit up with a smile as he snuggled in closer to Matt. Matt wrapped his arms around George to keep him in place.
