Chapter #9 Party

      We arrived at the party. The party was in someone's backyard. There was an incredible pool. And hot tub. There were a lot of people. I kept bumping into people. "Don't worry there will be less people here later." Sarah reassured me. I hope she's right. How was I supposed to find Charlie in this mess of people? 

     "The party started awhile ago but we came at 8:00 because people will start clearing out." Sarah explained. I was looking around to see if I could spot Charlie. I wonder if he was here. Maybe he was coming later like we did. Not looking where I was going I ran straight into someone. Strong arms caught me before I fell on my face. I didn't dare look at who caught me. 

     "I'm so sorry I wasn't looking I was go-." "Evelyn?" In shock I looked up at him. It was Ethan. "Funny seeing you here this doesn't look like your kind of thing." He said. "Yeah because it isn't, my friend dragged me here." "Ha, makes sense, the second time we bumped into each in one day it must be faith." I laughed. "I guess it must be." I smiled Ethan was charming in his own way but no one could be more charming than Charlie. 

     "Did you just arrive? The party started a while ago." "Yeah me and my friend just showed up, we plan to stay later." "Do you plan on going swimming?" "Yeah I'm wearing my swimsuit under neath." "What kind of swimsuit may I ask?" "I'm wearing a bikini." "Sounds like a bold move for you but I bet you look amazing, can't wait to see you in it later." "Your staying later too?" "Yeah one of my friends is good friends with josh, this is Josh's house if you didn't know." "I didn't." "Well now you know, catch you later then. Can't wait to see your swimsuit." 

     He looked almost like he winked when he said swimsuit. All I did was smile and wave as he walked away. I felt a pull on my shoulders. Someone was pulling me from behind. 

     "There you are! I thought I lost you!" Sarah's eyes filled with concern. "Oh sorry I bumped into Ethan literally." "Ugh Ethan, he totally likes you." "Does not!" There was that look again. "Whatever." I looked away. "I found Zack, come on." 

     Sarah pulled me through a crowd of people. Luckily Zack was in an area with less people. "Hey baby." Sarah said, running into his arms. He picked her up and spun her around then gave her a kiss. I didn't know what to do, I just stood there awkwardly. 

     A random guy came up to me. "Hey there." "Hey? Do I know?" "Not yet you don't, my name's Jimmy." "Nice to meet you Jimmy." "Me and some friends are getting out of here and going back to my place, my parents aren't home, wanna have some fun?" "Actually I'm meeting someone and I'm here with my friend." "Are you sure darling? You look like a real snack. We would have a real good time in my bedroom." 

     Bedroom?! Oh my gosh was he trying to have sex with me! No thank you, not happening. "No way! I'm sorry mister but I just met you. I don't even know you, I'm not gonna go back to your house and have sex with you!" I blurted out. "Aw looks like we got a feisty one on our hands." He looked at his buddies. 

      He grabbed my hand with a tight grip. "Hey! Let go of me!" He grabbed me with his other arm leaning close to me. "You better keep your voice down." I wiped my head away and I wouldn't look at him. "Look at me." I didn't. "I said look at me!" I still didn't. He grabbed my face with his right hand. "You better listen." He made me make eye contact with him. "How about a kiss to make up for your bad behavior." "No way in hell!" 

     I tried with all my power to break free from him but I wasn't strong enough. His hand was around my neck squeezing it tightly, I couldn't breathe. I tried gasping for air. Suddenly he let go. My breath was heavy. I could breathe again. "What the heck man." Jimmy screamed at some guy. I couldn't see who it was. My vision was blurry. 

     "Get your hand off of her! You don't treat girls like that! Get the hell out of my party." "Chill man, we were just having some fun." "Fun? That didn't look like fun for her! Do you see the marks you left on her face?" "So?" 

      The guy was pissed off at Jimmy. "You better get your asses moving!" "Fine we're out of here this party was lame anyways." Jimmy and his buddies left the party thank god. I was still on the ground. 

     "Hey are you alright? He left a big mark on your face." His fingers were tracing the marks on my face. I flinched when he touched my jaw. I didn't realize how much it hurt. 

     "Sorry, wow even your arms have big marks on them, why did he do this to you?" "I don't know, I guess he wanted to have sex with me but I said no but he didn't let me go." I tried explaining. 

     "Sorry that guy is just a jerk, here let me help you up." He helped me to my feet. "My name's Josh, yours?" "Oh so this is your house, I'm Evelyn." "It's nice meeting you Evelyn, wanna come inside to clean up a little." "Yeah that would be great, thank you." 

     "EVELYN!" I heard someone scream.  "Oh my gosh Evelyn what happened are you ok?!" Sarah screamed. Sarah came running up to me with Zack behind her. "Yeah I'm ok." "Who did this to you?" Zack asked me. " It doesn't matter." "Jimmy." Josh told him. 

     "These marks look really bad, don't worry I'll cover them up with some makeup and you'll look good as new." Sarah assured me. "Thanks Sarah." "Now come one, let's get you cleaned up." Josh said, leading me towards the house. Sarah and Zack followed us. 

     Josh took me straight into the bathroom. "Here." He handed me a wet towel cloth to clean the dirt off from when I fell. "Thanks." I wiped all the dirt off and cleaned off the dirty towel cloth. I looked at myself in the mirror. Wow I did have a huge mark on my face from where Jimmy was choking me. My neck had big bruises in the shape of a hand. Josh handed me some ice. 

     "You're gonna wanna ice that for a little bit." He told me. I didn't mind staying in the house. There was no one in there but Josh, Sarah, Zack and I. 

     I put the ice on my neck over the mark. The ice felt cold against my skin. "I'm so sorry Eve! I won't leave you again tonight I promise." Sarah promised me. "Don't worry about it's fine, I swear." "Ok, and luckily I brought your makeup as well as mine, I can cover the mark right up." 

     "But after she has iced it for a while." Josh said. "Of course." Sarah said. After leaving the ice on for a while Sarah covered the mark up with makeup. Sarah was right. It looked like it wasn't even there. She also covered up the marks on my arms. 

      Josh looked out the window. "Looks like almost everyone has left except the people who are staying later, if you guys wanna head out to the pool you can leave your clothes in here." "That'll be great, thank you." 

     I slipped out of my clothes. Underneath was just my bikini. Sarah, Zack and I were in our suits and headed to the pool. When we got out there I saw Charlie. After everything that just happened I was so excited to see him. 

      He was just in swim trunks with no shirt on. Damn he looked really good. He had so much muscle on his build I couldn't help myself from staring. He walked up to me. 

     "I can tell that you're staring." "That obvious?" "It's fine, you can stare, I don't mind." That made my heart flutter. "And for the record you look amazing." "Speak for yourself." I blushed when I said that. 

     "You look like a model in that bikini, very sexy." Ethan said. "Oh thanks." I said. "Aw come on you're not gonna compliment my muscles?" "Sorry your muscles look very nice." "Ouch, very nice but I'll take it." He said with a grin. 

     He stepped in closer to me then before he could get too close Charlie pulled me closer to him by my waist. W-what just happened? Charlie's hands are on my waist. I didn't want him to see how red my face must have been. "Well I'll see you later Evelyn." Ethan said while walking away.
