"I'm sorry I gotta go. My mom is holding some fancy get-together with her friends and wants me to help clean up the house so it's spotless for her guests." He rolled his eyes at his own words then smiled.

"Hey, it's totally fine. I'm just happy I got to see you today and we fixed some of the awkward tension." I told him. He laughed. What a beautiful sound that is to hear him laugh.

"Yeah I'm glad we got rid of all that awkward tension." He mocked my words as he continued to laugh. I laughed along with him. He went into the living and I watched him grab his shirt. I almost forgot that he wasn't wearing a shirt.

I watched him pull the shirt over his head, messing up his Carmel hair. I felt so in the moment with him that I never took the time to appreciate his outfit. Charlie was wearing a gray T-shirt with light blue jeans that sat loosely on his hips. He pushed his hair back in an attempt to fix it. "Well I better get going now." Oh no. He caught me staring at him. He didn't say anything about it though he only smirked at me.

I walked with him to the door but he stopped in his tracks right before reaching the door. He turned to face me. "Before I go, I have one question to ask you." My head started to spin at the thought of what he could possibly ask me.

Charlie grabbed both of my hands holding them in his. "Evelyn, will you make me the happiest man by being my girlfriend?"

I squeezed his hands gently. A smile appeared across my face. "Yes." I watched Charlie's face light up at my answer. He let go of my hands and brought them to my waist again.

He lifted me up into the air spinning me around. "Charlie!" I shrieked. Charlie's laughter filled the room. I wrapped my arms around his neck so I wouldn't fall. When he stopped spinning me he pulled me closer to him and brought my lips to his. My feet were still dangling off the ground as our lips met. It felt as if the room was spinning and it was just us in the world. I feel so happy at this moment with Charlie. After pulling away from the kiss Charlie gently placed my feet back onto the ground. "I really have to go now." He placed a soft kiss on my forehead before opening the door.

"I'll text you." "I'll be waiting by the phone." He shut the open behind him and then he was gone.

I started to head back into the living when I heard someone burst through the front door. "I forget something."

"Wha-." I tried to ask until I was stopped by Charlie's lips connecting with mine. His hand gripped my waist as he pulled me closer to him. I threw my arm around his neck pulling his mouth even closer to mine if that's even possible. Our mouths moved hungrily for one another. I broke the kiss to catch my breath. My breath was heavy as was Charlie's. I removed my arms from his neck and pushed him back playfully. "Now go on, your mother is waiting for you." He made the face of a sad puppy who just got told no. "Give one more hug?" "Fine one more hug." He wrapped his arms around me tightly like I would disappear at any second. I hugged him back before pulling away. I walked behind him as he headed back to the front door. When he opened the door and stepped out I stepped out with him.

"What are you doing?" "Making sure you leave this time." I closed the door behind me, leaving it slightly open. "Quick to get rid of me huh?" "I would love to have to stay longer but you're needed elsewhere." He stepped closer. "But where could be more important than with my girlfriend." His voice was low and hushed. Him calling me his girlfriend for the first time gave me butterflies.

"With your mother." I scolded him. I put my hands in his chest and pushed him back with all my strength, which isn't much. "I'll see you again soon I promise. Right now your mom needs you so go." "Ok ok I'm going." He put his hands up in defense. I watched him walk to his car. Before getting in he looked back at me and smiled. Then he drove away.

I headed back inside and sat down on the couch with the bowl of popcorn that Charlie and I never finished. I should text Sarah and tell her to come over. I have so much to tell her. I looked around the room for my phone but didn't see it. I don't think I even touched my phone all day. It's probably still sitting in the charger from last night. I headed up the stairs and into my bedroom. Yup right where I thought it was on the charger on my nightstand. I unplugged it then unlocked it and opened up my messages. I texted Sarah.

*Hey wanna come over I have so much to tell you.*

Not even a second later she texted back.

*Yeah of course I'll be over in 5.*

I headed back down stairs and plopped down onto the couch. Like Sarah said 5 minutes later she came bursting through my front door. "Eve?" Sarah yelled into the house to get my attention. "Right here." I peeked around the corner so I was now in view of her.

Sarah tends to dress nicely when going out in public or with friends but around me she just dresses comfortably. She knows I would never judge her. Sarah is wearing a light orange hoodie. Interesting color choice but Sarah looks amazing with the orange hoodie against her light brown skin. Sarah is what people would call mixed. Sarah's mom is white and her dad is black. They seem like the perfect couple when you think of how opposites attract. It's too bad they can't seem to stand each other and always end up fighting. Her white shorts are high on her thighs. Her feet are dressed in a pair of crocs.

"Come one spill the news already, does it have something to do with Charlie?" The excitement in her voice heightened with each word. "Yes it had something to do with Charlie." "Spill."
