Chapter #25 Food

     "Seriously what happened in the bathroom?" I asked Zack. "Nothing, we just talked." "About?" I pushed. "Charlie should probably tell you himself. It's personal, he may seem closed off about personal things now but just what he'll open up eventually." I nodded my head and agreed not to ask about it again. 

     Charlie came running back in. "Keys!" Zack handed him the keys and he ran right back out. A few minutes later Charlie came back with something in his hands. "Sorry I thought I had a jacket with me but I only have this hoodie." He said while showing me the red hoodie that was in his hand. "That's perfect, thank you." I smiled and took the hoodie from him, slipping it over my head. 

     The hoodie was huge on me because Charlie is much bigger than me. The sleeves went past my hands so I had to roll up the sleeves in order to use my hands. "Where is that waiter?" Zack complained. "Charlie scared him off." Sarah said. "What's the deal with him? He goes to our school right? What's your problem with him?" Zack asked Charlie. Charlie groaned but didn't say anything. Ethan probably heard Zack's comment because he came quickly around the corner to take our orders. Everyone got food except me. I had left my wallet in Sarah's car so I had so way of buy any food. 

     "Evelyn you don't want anything?" Charlie asked me. "Yeah I'm good, plus I forgot my wallet anyways." "Don't worry about money I'll cover you. Order something." I felt very on the spot. I didn't want to get anything with Charlie's money. I would feel too bad to eat it. "Seriously I'm good I don't want anything." Ethan left after that. 

     It was late and I haven't eaten anything today. I guess it would be nice to eat something but I couldn't stomach the food that I didn't pay for. "Eve, I've been with you all day you haven't eaten anything you must be hungry." I knew she said it loudly on purpose so that Charlie would jump in and make sure I ate something. I silently praised that Charlie didn't hear her. What are the chances of that? "You didn't eat today?" Zero. 

     "Evelyn, it's past eleven and you didn't eat anything yet you say you're not hungry." I looked over at Sarah who had a sly grin on her smile knowing exactly what she did. "I did eat today." My tone of voice betrayed me. I was looking everywhere but at Charlie. "I had a big breakfast." "What did you have for breakfast?" Charlie asked, staring at me but I refused to make eye contact. "Cereal."

     I don't want to be lectured or worried about but I also won't lie. Plus I suck at lying. "Cereal is a big breakfast?" "Yes, if you eat a lot of it. Plus the milk." I sound ridiculous.

     "You're gonna eat something." I can't say that the reason I'm not eating is because I don't have any money because my wallet is in Sarah's car because I know Charlie would offer to pay for me right away. "I'm gonna order you something." Charlie's hand went up like he was trying to get Ethan aka our waiter's attention. I grabbed his arm in an attempt to pull it down, but failed miserably. 

     "I can't let you spend money on me." This time he did put his arm down. "Spend money on you? Is that why you didn't order? Just because you don't have your wallet on you?" I didn't say anything. "It's just some money, it's not a big deal. Order something." He told me. 

     Sarah kicked me under the table. "Hey!" She glared at me, basically telling me to take Charlie's offer. We were all distracted when Ethan came back again with their food and was gone before Charlie could say something. "Damn waiter." Charlie grumbled. I put my hand over his. "Charlie, it's ok. But thank you for trying." I give his hand, which is much larger than mine, a small squeeze. "It's not ok, Evelyn you haven't eaten." "I'll eat when I get home." I brushed him off. "No, you're gonna eat now." He picked one of the fries off of his plate and brought it to my mouth. "Eat." I didn't open my mouth, I just stared at him.

      "We can do this the easy way or the hard way, which is it?" I didn't answer, I just continued looking at him like an idiot. "Ok remember you brought this on yourself." I was confused at what he meant by that but I was soon to find out. Charlie shoved the fry into his own mouth and started chewing then grabbed my face and pulled me closer to him so our lips crashed together. He forced open my lips with his tongue and pushed the chew up fry into my mouth. I pushed on his chest so our lips broke away from each other. I finished chewing up the fry and swallowed it. "That was disgusting, I feel like a baby bird who's mama just fed her." Everyone at the table broke out into laughter.

      "What? Are you saying you don't like kissing me?" He made a gasping sound. "Wow I'm offended Evelyn." 

     "You violated my mouth with your already chewed up food." 

     "I warned you." He picked up another fry and brought it towards my mouth. "Are you gonna eat this one on your own? Cause I'll gladly help again if needed." His smirk was wicked. I took the finger out of his hand.

     "Fine, just stay away from my mouth." That made the brunette beside me chuckle. I placed the fry into my mouth. It tasted better when I could chew it up myself. I kept eating Charlie's fries, they tasted good plus I was really hungry. I wasn't paying attention and next thing I knew Charlie was asking what I wanted while Ethan was standing there staring at me while I had a mouth full of Charlie's fries. 

     "Just order something I pay for you." He said it quietly in hopes only I would hear him. I went to protest but my stomach growled and Charlie shot me a look. "If you don't order something I'll order for you." He spoke louder than before. I finally gave in because I had to admit I was hungry. I told him that I'd have a chicken caesar salad and he ordered for me.

     "But when we get back to Sarah's car, I will be paying you back. That is not up for debate." Charlie tried to say something in protest but Sarah interrupted him. "The both of you are so stubborn. Eve, you're in a relationship, let him take care of you and buy you food. Plus it's more money in your pocket." Charlie thanked Sarah. I opened my mouth to speak but Sarah interrupted yet again. "I know I know you don't like taking favors from people you like doing things on your own. You can pay Charlie back by going out to dinner or something with him. I bet Charlie would like that, am I right?" Charlie agreed with her. 

     "I feel teamed on, Zack would you like to jump in?" He chuckled and put an arm around Sarah. "Sometimes it is how relationships go, you pay for dinner or whatever on time and the other pays the next time. It's no big deal." I sighed. "You know I was just joking about the jumping in thing." At that moment my salad came to the table. Charlie grabbed the plate from Ethan before he could set the plate down in front of me so he could do it instead. 

     I grabbed my fork and stabbed a piece of chicken on top of the salad and popped into my mouth. I stabbed another piece and turned to Charlie. "Want some? I did eat a lot of your fries." I pushed the fork towards him.

      "It's only fair, and I'm paying for it." I grumbled at him and pulled my fork away, popping the piece of food into my mouth. "Fine, then you don't get anything." Charlie laughed. "Ok I'm sorry, I'll have a piece. As long as you feed it to me." His words shocked me. I brought the piece of chicken towards his mouth. His eyes locked on mine as he slowly put his mouth around my fork with the chicken on it before pulling it off and chewing it. I swear my jaw was on the floor at this point.

     I looked over at Sarah and Zack to see if they saw that. And thank god that Zack didn't but unfortunately. Sarah saw it. 

     When our eyes met she raised her eyebrows and cocked a brow at me while making a stupid face. I brushed her off and went back to eating my salad. I was happy to have food in my stomach but I was not gonna just let Charlie pay for me like this. I was gonna pay him back whether  he liked it or not. So what if we're dating that doesn't mean I'm gonna just mooch off of him.
