Alderaan couldn't have been farther away. Thanks to Han and the Wookies quick calculations, we made the jump to hyperspace without a hitch. Then all that was left was to wait. And as any Jedi should be patient, I, like my father, struggled with this aspect. I liked to act, rather than to sit and watch while the world unfolded in front of me. I liked to be the one to unfold it myself.
So I found myself in the cockpit, levitating things inches above the ground, meditating, and enjoying the entertainment that Luke's training provided for me. It was always fun to watch me Jedi's train, particularly because they often for angered when they messed up, getting stung by the game laser blasts. And Luke was no different.
Once Obi-Wan put the blaster sheild over his eyes, Luke was blind. And, like most younglings, he continued to seeing his lightsaber, but without precision.
"Let go, Luke." Obi-Wan said, coaxing him into the exercise. "Let your feelings guide your blade."
I sniggered as Luke's hand caught a stray blast. This was to much fun.
Then a blast ripped through my heart. I paused, my mouth open, the laugh catching on my throat. It was as of I could hear their cries of help, their screams. Hundreds upon hundreds of screaming voices, pleading for help. Pleading for release. I leaned heavily against the table, breathing slowly. Something was wrong. I looked towards Obi-Wan, his mouth agape. He clenched his hands together, his eyes calculating.
"What was that?" I asked softly. It wasn't right. I had never felt something that strong before. Nothing so compelling or helpless.
And I felt little.
"It was as if hundreds of voices were ceiling out for help." He said softly, his eyes full of fear and sadness."And then they were silenced."
I looked down at the ship beneath our feet, ashamed. When I looked back up, Obi-Wan was standing. "I need to talk to the captain." He said breathlessly. Turning on his two, he matched down the small corridor, Like and I scampering after him.
