I felt terrible. We had crept inside the deathstar by knocking out two clones and stuffing Luke and Han inside their armor. We made it to some sort of control room, I assumed, and we made base there, Obi-Wan scurrying off to reverse the retractor mean so we could escape.
I had a feeling it wouldn't be that easy though. Here you have a jedi, old Obi-Wan, who is undoubtedly buzzing with midiclorians, and easy to sense. And then you have me, Darth Vader's own daughter, probably giving of a signal to him so loud...
"I don't think you boys can help me. I must go alone."
I glanced up at Obi-Wan from the screen R2 had pulled up, flashing images of where to take out the retractor beam. "Whatever you say." Han said cockily. "I've had more than I've bargained for in this trip already."
"I want to go with you." Like said, grabbing the old man's arm.
"Be patient, Luke, stay and watch over the droids." Ben said, his voice calming. "They must be delivered safely or other star systems will suffer the same fate as Alderaan." He finished, leaving Luke no where to inject. "Your destiny lies along a different path than mine. The force will be with you. Always."
Then he was gone.
Chewy grumbled. "You said it, Chewy." Han agreed, leaning on the wall. He faced Luke, a sky grin on his face. "Where did you dig up that old fossil?"
"Ben is a great man!" Luke said, advancing.
"Yeah, great at getting is into trouble."
"I didn't hear you give any ideas."
"Well anything's better than sitting around, waiting for him to pick us up!"
"Who do you think...."
I rolled my eyes. "Queit!" I said. R2 was beeping frantically, and I had begun to feel a tug in my gut. A familiar presence I couldn't place.
"What is it?" Luke asked to both me and R2.
"I'm not sure, sir." 3PO answered. "He said 'I've found her' and keeps repeating 'she's here!"
"Who?" Luke asked gently. "Who had he found?"
"Princess Leia."
The next thing I knew, Han and Luke had left for the detention level to save the princess, and I was stuck on babysitting duty. As much as I wished to sneak around the outside the locked room, I didn't have the faith to do so. Worried my father would jump at the opportunity to get me back, even though I knew Obi-Wan was off to duel him as well as render the beam useless.
All I could do was hold my breath and wait for a better opportunity, a better time.
