Lord Vader had ordered Captain Piette to bring me to my first day of school. When we came to pick me up, a tall girl was with him,  who looked about my age.

"Lani, this is my daughter Kiara. She's in the same grade as you. Kiara, Lani."

I smiled shyly. She have me a gigantic, beaming grin in return. Captain Piette and Kiara climbed into the surrender, motioning for me to follow. I looked back at Lord Vader, who stood still in the doorway. Seeing me looking, he took several steps forward, calling something to his hand. It was a brown bookbag, made from bantha hide. He held it out.

"Thank  you." I gasped. I could see a piece of paper peering out from the top of the bag. Before I had a chance to look at it, Captain Piette had swooped in. before I knew it, I was in the speeder, parked on front of the large schoolhouse. I gulped.

After bidding farewell to her father, Kiara led me up the steps and into a large office, where the Hyborian receptionist shooed her away, telling her to wait outside for me. Yay. I was alone, in a big office, with one stern looking office lady. Joy.

As I stepped into another large office, I was X-rayed by bright blue eyes. Principal Xxord glared at me. "Sit." She said curtly, nodding to a hardbacked wooden chair across from her own. The only thing separating me from her beady state was a large, intricately carved desk.

"Lani Skywalker." She read of of a data pad. "Father: Darth Vader. Well then..... Is that true?" I looked at her. My mouth was hanging open. My father? I shook it off. He rescued me from Xitis'  hellhole. Essentially adopted me. I guess he deserves that title.

But before I could recount my thoughts to Principal Xxord, she was already conversing to a hologram of the man in black himself.

"Principal Xxord. I was expecting you to come calling. I have taken it upon myself to raise young Lani here." Lord Vader purred. "I am on a very right schedule, Principal. Will this suffice as testimony?"

After openmouthingly nodding, the principal handed me a slip of paper. "For your uniform, books, and class schedule. Miss Piette will know where to go."

Then I was rushed out of the office and left alone on the hallway until I saw Kiara anda much older girl approaching.

"How'd it go?"
