☆☆Brecley:

I was still fazed by his words. What did he mean? It was moments like this that made me wish that he wasn't so much of a difficult puzzle that was almost impossible to figure out.

I thought of bringing up the cupcake to make the thick cloud of tension lessen but one look at his plain face and I didn't know how to bring it up, which was funny because I always knew how to bring topics up.

I climbed into the passenger's seat and sat quietly, waiting for Tyler to finish his call and start the journey. My eyes couldn't help but drift to the rearview mirror, Kylo's unfazed form stared back at me. His short waves fell over his face as his eyes stayed on his phone, he had his pinky on his barely parted lips, his back slouched into his seat, his legs parted. A hand rested on the window and on his face was a lazy expression. His tongue dipped and moistened his lower lip, giving me a peek at his pearly whites. Good lord, this man was beyond sexy.

His eyes slowly raised and both our eyes met through the mirror. Shit, he had caught me staring again. He slightly tilted his head and raised a brow at me, "is there a problem?" His voice rasped.

My breaths hitched at the nature of his voice. No matter how many times I heard him talk— which in this case was less— I could never get over it.

I just offered an awkward smile and shook my head. He squinted his eyes at me before humming and lowering his eyes to get back to whatever he was doing. I found myself biting my lips, my nervousness and hormones never acted right whenever I was around him. I found my breaths slowed and my throat dry. This man was messing with me. He screamed 'I don't care', exuded confidence and obliviousness at the same time. It was like he was playing games without knowing it. Or maybe he did. His obliviousness will be my undoing.

The driver's door shut, only then did I get jolted out of my reverie by the loud slam. Tyler stared at me, raising a curious brow at my sudden jolt before casting a gaze at an oblivious Kylo through the mirror. He peered at him before turning back to me. I knew he had a question to ask, so I just shook my head at him. I didn't want Tyler going into that mode at the moment.

He pinned me with his scrutiny for a second before humming and bringing the car to life. I turned my head towards the window and rested my head on it, my thoughts slipped back into my mind cruelly. I released a heavy sigh and took a deep breath, a familiar scent of vanilla and sandalwood hit my nose. I closed my eyes, relishing the scent as the trip began.

                                                          *****

"Remember this song, Brecley?"

Tyler's voice startled me a little and I slowly raised my hair-splattered face to him. "Huh?"

"The heck have you been thinking about? You've been jumpy and absentminded for a while." Tyler spared a quick glance at me before reverting them back to the road in order to prevent an accident from happening.

My eyes involuntarily raised to the mirror to glance at the being responsible for my current state. He had his headphones on his ear and his head rested on the window. He appeared lost in his own world with an unfathomable expression. The breeze blew his waves around and I couldn't help but notice how he'd blink whenever his hair got into his eyes. Great, so he was unaware of whatever was going on. To my dumb luck, he moved his eyes and again, our eyes collided. He lingered a stare at me before quietly looking away, taking his eyes back to face the window.

My eyes blinked a couple times at his reflection before looking away. Five whole days in his presence, could I do it? Especially as just friends? I groaned internally and pulled my eyes shut. I felt my heartbeat accelerate. I needed this ride over as soon as possible; the heat traveling through my body and the inexplicable tingles that tickled my skin, was making it hard for me to stay seated in this car, trapped in his dominating presence, any further.
