Leah's P.O.V.

Thank god this game is over. I'm happy we won, but I'm so glad it's over, it was horrendous. To be honest my mind is all over the place, what happened on that pitch during the game I didn't expect, at all. Don't get me wrong, Ellie can more than hold her own but it wasn't fair. It's my fault as well, I shouldn't have told Abbie about Ellie before the game, but I didn't expect her to act like that. I didn't think she'd particularly give a shit.

"Abbie what the fuck was all that?" I approach Abbie after the game

"What?" She replies

"You fucking know what? Why was you gunning for her like that? What was you saying to her?" I'm trying not to lose my shit, but its pretty difficult.

"You'll have to ask her that"

"Abbie that was out of order"

"She was just as bad"

"Yeah because of you, you started it all" I snap

"Oh whatever Leah. She's a bitch"

"NO Abbie, don't" I snap back and walk away, I don't want to hear anymore and I really don't want to lose my temper.

——

We all head back into the changing rooms, I can see Ellie just sat back in her cubby, boots off, her legs stretched out as shes looking down. She doesn't look happy. She doesn't seem angry though. But she's definitely not happy. She actually looks a bit sad which breaks my heart. Jen walks over to her and puts her hand on her shoulder. Ellie sits up, she brings her hands up to her face, as she looks down to the floor, propping her arms up with her legs. I don't think shes crying but she's definitely not right. I need to see if shes alright. This is all my fault. I start to walk over to her when I'm suddenly stopped in my tracks

"Don't" Beth says to me

I just look at Beth, and look back at Ellie.

"Beth, I..."

"No Leah, not now"

"But Beth..."

"No"

There is no chance Beth is letting me go up to Ellie right now, I walk to my cubby. If I wasn't in this changing room right now surrounded by all the girls i definitely wouldn't be able to hold back the tears I'm trying to fight off right now. I just want to hold her and make sure shes ok.

I sit back in my seat and look over at Ellie, I see Beth sit next to her, her hand on her back as she leans forward and says something to her. Ellie doesn't move, she keeps her hands resting on her forehead and continues to look down. Fuck. I literally just want to scream right now.

——

We all head back onto the bus ready for the journey home. To be honest, its the last thing I need right now, a 4 hour coach journey home after what just happened out there. I make my way to my seat, same seat I was in on the way up here yesterday. I look over and notice there is an empty seat next to Jen.

"Where's Ellie" I mouth to Beth

She nods her head across, I look at her confused.

"Behind" she whispers.

I look over to the 2 seats behind the table of four, where she would normally be sat with Jen, Steph and Katie. It actually breaks my heart a little, shes sat on her own, leaning her side and head into the chair, her legs bent up across the other seat, her hood up, headphones in and eyes closed. I don't think it was the physical side of Abbie that got to her, Ellie is a physical player herself and she thrives off it, its part of her game. It'll be whatever Abbie said to her, and judging by what Abbie was like with me before and after the game I can't imagine it was anything good. Not forgetting the fact that Ellies head is probably a mess right now, she knows something but she doesn't know exactly and that's probably really messing with her. It's all my fault. I really want to speak to her but i don't think this is the time. It'll have to wait until tomorrow.
