Ellies P.O.V

The last couple of months have been crazy, games were thick and fast, as a team we were playing really well, we won the continental cup against Chelsea, which felt really good to get my first bit of silverware with Arsenal and we had also beaten Bayern Munich to progress though to the semi final of the Champions League. I had been playing pretty well, scoring a few goals and assisting quite a few too, still also picking up a few yellow cards along the way though, something which I've still got work to do on, but its just part of my game sometimes. But I feel really good, and definitely feel like I'm contributing to the team, which has been a little difficult as the team seem to be dropping like flies at the moment with injuries, but it seems to be pulling the team closer together, still fighting for the Champions League and for the WSL, although winning the league is probably a little out of reach, we still need to ensure we fight for the champions league places for next year, should we not go on to win it.

Leah and I have also been really good, probably closer than ever. We have been having fun, enjoying each other, we had spent a lot of time together at Leahs house when we were both free but also went to a couple of gigs, dinners out and a few events too, some we were both invited too and some we did separately. I didn't realise it was possible to fall even more in love with her every day, but I did. We did still spend some time apart though, as it was important not to be completely in each others pockets. Leah spent time with her family and friends outside of football, and I still also made sure I spent time with Beth and Viv too, even though I didn't actually stay at home much.

Leah and I were both quite open, and didn't particularly hide each other when it came to social media. Leah posted more of me or both of us than I did though, not that I did that on purpose, she just posted more than I did, but it also meant within the woso world anything that was posted of the two of us was all over social media...

Leah posted a story of me helping to clean her house, I was dancing around acting daft, she added Got the girl domesticated 🤪

I did repost that one to my story....Says the girl who's mum still does her washing 🤔

Leah posted a picture of a dinner date, a picture of a candle lit table, showing our food, but it was obvious it was me sat opposite.

Lia Walti had also posted a story of us all in my car, car karaoke of course, I was driving and Leah was in the passenger seat, the video cutting as Leah reached out to place a hand on my thigh

Leah also posted a few pictures of me with Bella

So although there was no official confirmation, it was pretty obvious to the woso world. There was one thing we hadn't done though, we never turned up at any official event together, even if we were both invited, we always turned up separately and that was something we had both agreed on previously.

We have also just got back from another International break, we played in the Finalissima and beat Brazil on penalties at Wembley, which was incredible. Unfortunately we then went on to lose to Australia in a friendly, which brought an end to our unbeaten run with England under Serena. It was a rough night for everyone but none more so than Leah, who had a pretty tough night. Leah was normally pretty good at forgetting about games once they had ended and she had reflected but this match seemed difficult for her to move on from.

Flashback:

We had arrived back at Leah's after the game against Australia as that marked the end of camp. Normally we would have spent a little time with family but Leah was not in the mood for that. Obviously we don't always have the best of games as players every game and it does effect people in different ways. I'd been trying to reassure Leah since the game, as well as the rest of the team, coaching staff and her family but I could tell she was getting a bit agitated by it all. The car journey was pretty quiet back to Leah's.
