All Abi could smell was the nice scent of Noah's t-shirt. He smelled good, like detergent and soap, but he didn't reek too strongly of cologne, like other boys did.

She felt the warm sun graze her back, and felt the speeding sensation along the road as her and Noah flew through the countryside.

Suddenly, she heard a soft voice ring out. It was quiet, but she could hear it perfectly. Abi looked over and there was Ace's mom, riding a motorcycle next to them.

"Seraphina... What are you doing here?" Abi said quietly, though it sounded loud and clear.

"Abi, my dear," Seraphina said. "You are going to win a battle within the next week, I can tell that."

"Against Ronaldo Rosenpinis?" Abi asked.

Seraphina shrugged. "Maybe. But I can also see that you are going to need some confidence soon. Remember, be yourself and you'll be loved and you'll be strong."

"This is all very vague. Can you be any more specific?"

Seraphina chuckled. "Sorry dear. No can do. But I leave you with one last note: When you're in the lair and don't know which way, go left."

"What?"

Seraphina smiled. "I'm afraid that's all the time we have. Goodbye, now."

"Wait, Seraphina!" But she was already gone to the next person.

Shakira was on her seventh-scratch that- eighth cookie.

"Gramma theth are tho gooth," she said through a mouth full of chocolate chips. Outside, thunder crackled.

Her Grandma Em winked at her.

"Hello, Shakira," Seraphina said, popping out of nowhere. Shakira jumped.

"Thcared me," responded Shakira, mouth still full. She swallowed. "What's going on?"

"I just have some advice to give you. You don't have much advice, but listen closely, it's important." Seraphina leaned in. "When the time comes, you will have a few seconds to make a choice. Save yourself, or one of your friends. And I just want you to be safe. But..." Seraphina inhaled shakily.

"Um, could you elaborate?"

Seraphina bit her lip. "I really don't like to give specific futures because it tends to mess things up..."

"C'mon this obviously has you rattled. Just tell me. I won't tell anyone."

Seraphina thought for a moment. "Okay, fine!" she blurted. "The thing is, there's going to be an instance where either you or Ace gets severely injured. I really don't want to see you hurt, but-"

"I get it. You don't want Ace hurt," Shakira said, understanding.

"Well- There's a sort of problem afterwards." Seraphina looked nervous, which made Shakira nervous. "I can't see anything past you getting injured. I can't tell if you live or..."

"Oh." Shakira sat on her Grandpa's giant red recliner. "So I might die."

"I don't know, that's the thing!" Seraphina cried in frustration. "I can't see anything!"

Shakira took a long breath. "Seraphina, I will try to do the right thing when the time comes. For right now, I'll eat more cookies and you tell everyone else their futures."

Seraphina smiled sadly. "Thank you, Shakira. I can see why Ace likes you so much."

Shakira smiled as positively as she could back. Then, she realized. "Wait, Ace likes me?!"
