Peter had known the Avengers for a while now. Well, Spiderman had. The Avengers were completely unaware of Spiderman's identity, and that was exactly how Peter wanted it. Although he trusted the Avengers with his life, he simply didn't want to share his age and family.

His age, because he was only 15, and he was scared that the Avengers would treat him differently because of that. He was aware that he was a little young to be a superhero, but he was doing fine and didn't want to deal with more worried adults. 'More', because he already had May. She had found out about his nightly activities some months ago and freaked out, but Peter had calmed her down and they made some rules about his curfew and injuries.

He loved May.

His family, because he loved May. He was so scared of losing her, and anyone knowing his identity and therefore being able to get to May was such a big risk that Peter just refused to take it.

So he had never told the Avengers anything about himself, even though they kept pushing. Peter thought it was funny, really. They thought he was about 23, which amused but also confused Peter. His voice wasn't really deep yet, but alright.

He had met the Avengers after helping them out with a cult of wizards attacking dr. Strange's Sanctum. Apparently, the group of heroes had been quite impressed by his skills and decided to invite him to Shawarma after the mission, -a tradition of theirs, Peter had learned later-and Peter had, although a bit hesitantly, happily accepted. He had never tasted the foreign food before back then, but it had quickly become one of his favorites, just like he apparently became Ironman's favorite.

As more time passed and Spiderman began spending more time at the tower after missions, but also just at random times, the billionaire and the boy began to form a mentor-mentee relationship, which slowly formed into something more. Something which some would call a father-son relationship; not that either of the two would ever admit that.

Point is: Everything was exactly how Peter wanted it. Everything was good.

But then Hydra's mutant human trafficking ring had to ruin it. Of course it did, it was always Hydra. The thing was that Peter couldn't just knock down a few people and have it over with, no, he had to get to the inner circle of the people handling the ring, and he couldn't do that by being Spiderman.

He had to become Hydra.

Now Peter knew it probably would have been smart to tell the Avengers including his very overprotective father figure that he would be undercover in Hydra for a few weeks or even months, but he hadn't.

He had been spending days practicing a speech to convince Tony to let him do this, because the man probably wouldn't let him, but when he was finally ready, the whole team was on a mission in Poland. And that so happened to be the day before his only to chance to join Hydra arrived.. Woops. Maybe he should stop delaying things.

So he went undercover (after he had already gotten May's permission, and god had that been a challenge) without telling any Avengers.

So now he was Troy Well, a fairly new Hydra agent from a small town in remote America, 20 years old and totally alone with a mysterious hatred toward the world. Of course Peter had prepared a whole detailed backstory for Troy, but those were the basics.

With no chance of contacting the Avengers without getting caught, Peter began making his way up to the top of Hydra determinedly.

The Avengers were freaking out. Spiderman was gone.

When they had finally come back from their one week long mission in Poland, they found no reports of Spiderman and the vigilante wasn't answering his phone. The last time some footage caught him, he was swinging through Manhattan after visiting the Tower only to find it empty.
