Learning to Love

Chapter 49

This morning when I woke up I had climbed out of bed and waddled down the stairs clutching both of my stingrays, I had left teddies cuddled up with each other in bed so they didn't get lonely, at first I didn't know where everyone was, but then I heard laughing coming from the living room, so I headed that way.

"Good morning, Cali!" I jumped a little and then turned to look up at Papa, he had surprised me by coming behind me. "Did I scare you little one? Papa didn't mean too." he reached down and picked me up and settled me on his hip, then walked further into the living room, "Hey everyone, look who I found in the hallway!" Everyone stopped and looked my way and they all smiled at the same time, creepy.

"Good morning, Baby girl! Did you have a good time with Daddy yesterday?" Mommy started walking to Papa and took me from his arms, I nodded my head and put my head on her shoulder. She patted my back and started rocking back and forth as she walked over to the couch, she sat down and moved me to her lap, I whined a little cause I just wanted to lay my head on her shoulder. "Shhh, darling I know, but its morning, time to wake up for the day." I showed Mommy my stingrays and made sure they were up to her face so that she wouldn't miss any detail, they were so cool, and she had to see them too. "I see your stingray's baby, did daddy buy those for you yesterday?" She reached up and lowered them back to my lap, and I nodded yes then turned and looked at daddy, "Daddy!" "Yes, good Job sweetie, that's daddy! He took you to the aquarium yesterday and looks like you were super well behaved since he let you get two stingrays." I nodded my head again "Yes." mommy laughed "Yes you were a good girl, huh baby?"

"Alright Cali, we have a question for you, we are going to take turns taking you out for the day to experience new things, who do you want to take you next?" I looked over at Mama, then looked to Papa, then turned my head so I was looking at Mommy, I shrugged my shoulders, I didn't know, I had lots of fun with daddy, but would we do if I went with any of the others. "It's okay if you want to think about it sweetie, we know it's a tough choice." I nodded my head, then turned to look at all of them again, Mama was smiling at me so wide, that I finally said "Mama" and pointed to her, she squealed, "She said Mama, and she picked me for the next adventure!" Mama started jumping around the room and I giggled watching her, she came and picked me up from Mommy, "I have so many fun things planned for our outing baby girl! You are going to have so much fun with me!" I smiled at her and reached my head up so that I could reach her cheek and gave her a kiss. Mama gasped and looked at me so shocked, "She gave me a kiss!" Mommy looked sad, and I didn't want Mommy to be sad, so I reached back for Mommy and Mama put me back on her lap, I reached up and gave Mommy a kiss too.

"Aww, thank you baby, that was very nice of you." I nodded my head then looked over at Daddy, he looked upset, "Daddy" I said, and he looked over at me, "Yes Cali?" "Come, I give kiss?" He smiled so wide, and walked over to me, "I'm so proud of you Cali, you're so sweet." once I gave Daddy his kiss, I looked around "Papa?" I called, he came around from the corner, he seemed to be wiping his eyes for some reason, but he answered me anyways. "Yes, Cali?" "Give kiss?" He came practically running over to me, and I giggled then gave him a big wet kiss right on his cheek. He smiled down at me, "Thank you so much, love you to the moon and back little one."  

This is more of a filler chapter before she gets to go on her next adventure!
