Y/N's POV

"You want me to what??" I exclaimed, absolutely flabbergasted...not a hundred percent sure I heard them correctly.

"I know it's a big ask, Y/N...but it's the only way to keep you safe." Sam spoke softly, using his big, glittery green eyes against me the way he always does.

I huffed, shaking my head in disbelief as I paced about the hardwood floor of the living room. Although, I could barely hear the padding of my bare feet through the blood rushing in my ears from the fear and anxiety barreling through me.

One minute, I'm out cold on the couch, dreaming of fairies and sugarplums...and Sam's soul-snatching body on top of mine....then the next minute, Sam's waking me up and wrapping my robe around my naked body while his blood-soaked brother is just awkwardly standing in the background.

And if that wasn't alarming enough...they're asking me to just....pack up shop? Like I don't have a job? Or a life?

Because apparently I have demons from Hell stalking me???

I need more fucking wine.

"Look, clearly I'm a bit slow to the uptake here...because I just found out ghosts are real yesterday....but can you explain this shit to me again? From the top?" I sighed, pausing to place one hand on my hip and the other to my forehead...as if that will help me process this shit easier.

"We'd love to, sweetheart...but we're short on time and we gotta move." Dean grunted from beside Sam on the couch.

"Dean." Sam snapped softly, elbowing his brother in the side.

"First off, I'm not your 'sweetheart'. Second, I went without an explanation for almost a decade, so since you're in my house, asking me to uproot my life this go-round...I'm not budging until you explain a few fucking things." I snapped harshly.

I'm really not a mean person, I'm not. But when emotions are high and it feels like the world is exploding around you...wouldn't you lose your cool a bit?

I was just too much of a hot mess right now to care.

But thankfully...my words didn't seem to affect him much. Matter of fact...he looked a little impressed at my fury, given I could see the corners of his mouth twitching as if he were fighting off a smile.

"Yes, ma'am." Dean let out a soft chuckle, giving me a small salute by tapping two fingers to his forehead.

Sam rolled his eyes next to him, before letting them settle on me once again.

"Y/N...I'm not sure how else to say it without terrifying you, and I'm sorry. But the demons have been watching you for a very long time. Since Stanford. They led you to Lawrence because they knew I'd be an emotional wreck here on my own, let alone with you here. They set the ghost free, they attached it to you specifically, and they rode that patient into your hospital to keep an eye on you." Sam explained.

"So...when my boss opened up the wing...when my coworker gave me the bracelet...you're saying a demon was...what, possessing my friends when all of that happened?" I crossed my arms over my chest...mostly to clutch myself as the unsettling realization began to creep through my bloodstream.
