Jacob held on to the edge of the ship as it flew across the water. Xavier was piloting the boat in the direction of the mighty beasts that were mere spots on the horizon.

The night was clear, so at least there wasn't any fog to further impede visibility. Jacob had no idea what they were going to be up against. The Cuthulaken was one thing, they had fought it at the peak of their power. Rose was with them, as were the Stormcasters.

Now there were three of those things on the loose, and only two-to-three members of the group would be fighting each one.

At least Jacob now had a handle on his powers. If he didn't, he would be letting everybody down at a time like this.

That was assuming Jacob wouldn't be completely rocked in the fight. Time and time again, the rebel had been reduced to nothing by their foes.

This had to be the start of something new.

Everyone was silent on the ship, just trying to prepare for whatever battle was ahead of them.

Eventually, Centrixia started to appear in the distance. What was more, it seemed like one of the creatures was moving off towards the island. "They're splitting up," Xavier reported, looking through his telescope.

"What do we do, then?" Arvirdi asked.

Helena crossed her arms. "We'll have to break into two. Stop at the coast of Centrixia, and then I'll keep chasing it."

"I'll go too!" Jacob jumped in. "Together, we can handle whatever that thing is." Now that they were getting closer, it could be made out as some sort of winged creature.

Xavier sighed. "Not like we have a choice. Stay safe, both of you. Hopefully, Atlas and Luna will finish dealing with their Titan." The ship veered towards Centrixia.

The slate color pallet of the island was hard to make out in the darkness. A bright glow surrounded the giant monster, making it easy to keep track of. It seemed to have stopped moving now.

The boat coasted over to the shore. Jacob and Helena jumped off the ship and into the water. The sea went up to Jacob's knees. Helena, being taller, wasn't in as deep.

Xavier took his ship away from the shore while Jacob and Helena waded onto the beach. They wordlessly started to run to the location of the giant monster.

Jacob was glad it was a cold night, now that he was moving. The boy's gear that decorated his body clattered and clanged together. If it wasn't so cold, he'd surely be sweating.

As they neared the village that was under attack, everything started to feel warmer. Jacob got a good look at the monster they'd be dealing with.

It was a large insect. The creature's giant eyes bore down on the village. As it flapped its massive wings, it sent out waves of fire.

The freaky creature seemed to resemble some sort of moth. "Oh, this thing is just gross." Jacob groaned.

Helena sighed. "Isn't this ironic? A flaming moth. Let's do this!" Helena tossed out her battle axe into the air.

The duo charged into the village and were hit with a wave of heat. The temperature was sky-high, and it felt like Jacob was in the middle of a forge. The boy was fine with the heat, for now. However, others wouldn't be so fortunate.

The village was mostly made of wooden houses, meaning they were ablaze before long. The small town's population scrambled to get away from the sudden beast.

Jacob felt fury rise up in him. The moth launched a giant fireball at a house, and the rebel jumped into the air and used his shield to absorb the fireball.
