Anthony Lawrence"I hope you know that we are mad at you." Jasmine's shoulders were tight, struggling to contain the mixture of anger and worry within.
"But I answered your texts and told you that everything was fine." I reminded her as she showed me the chat with me on her phone and the number of phone calls I had missed.
"You answered hours later, Ant." Cole pointed out as I sat down on my seat next to Jasmine, Cole sitting in front of me.
It was a weird feeling to be back at the restaurant Oliver had taken me out on a date with weeks ago, only for Elias to forcefully drag me out of it. An afternoon I would probably never forget. I didn't want to explain to my friends, why I didn't want to be here because Elias already didn't have good cards with them.
Though, I had to start suppressing all these negative memories because I had made a clear decision yesterday by sleeping with Elias. I couldn't go back and forth the whole time whether I wanted to be with him or not. It was set in stone now.
"Where is Oli?" I questioned looking at the empty seat next to Cole.
"He is late, which gives us plenty of time to talk." Jasmine retorted decisively, ready to extract every information out of my brain she needed, until she would be satisfied.
"Calm down, Jass." Cole told her because he knew well enough how dangerous she was in that state.
"Haven't you seen the way he's been walking? We can't ignore the fact that he got hurt."
It took me a while to understand what Jasmine meant but the moment it clicked in my head, my whole face turned a deep shade of red. I tried to cover my face with my hands without making it too obvious, so that my friends wouldn't catch on it.
I wasn't ashamed of having had sex. There was nothing to be ashamed about. It was more the fact that I didn't know how to explain to my friends who I had been with, that made me feel uneasy.
"Good evening I'm Rachelle and your waitress for tonight, how may I take your order?" A darker skin toned girl, who had absolutely no motivation to be here asked us, while chewing on her bubble gum, which I'm sure wasn't actually allowed.
She at least made the effort to briefly look up from her notepad to check who she was even serving, when her eyes met mine.
There was no way I would be able to forget about how she poured red whine on Oliver's white blouse on purpose, before letting Elias drag me out of the restaurant, although she must have seen how terrified I was. But she played along for some cash.
And even if Elias and I were on good terms now, it didn't mean that my distaste towards her had subsided as well.
It was certainly not a waiter's job to let anyone kidnap whoever they wanted in exchange for money.
She rose an eyebrow at me, giving me a questioning stare as if she was surprised I was still alive. Nice to know she would have been fine with being responsible for someone's death.
"Damn, these are stunning." Jasmine complimented her golden bracelets, making Rachelle smile proudly. "They must have been expensive."
"Trust me, they definitely were." She provocatively turned her head in my direction, winking with one eye at me. Jasmine and Cole not noticing the brief encounter, while I was boiling with anger.
Usually, people said thank you when given a compliment but that seemed to be the last thing on her mind.
As well as hiding the fact that she obviously bought her bracelets and probably lots of other things with the money Elias gave her.
