Elias Easton"Shouldn't you be on vacation?" I asked Eric, after he stumbled into my office, where I was having a serious conversation with my faher.
Eric was lucky that my dad liked him, because he hated to get interrupted if there wasn't a good enough reason for it.
"Maybe, I just missed you?" Eric stated jokingly as my father left us alone to discuss whatever was so important that it couldn't wait.
"Ew." I retorted, making Eric laugh.
"Thank you, it's good to see that you've missed me too." Eric rolled his eyes, sitting down on my office chair. He knew so damn well that I didn't like to share my chair with anyone. I sat down on my couch waiting for him to talk.
"Wanna tell me, why you're here?" I asked skeptically because he should have been on vacation with his boyfriend.
"Don't think that I'm that stupid. You're literally always sending me away the moment you feel like shit... So, I am here to help you." Eric said with a wide grin on his lips.
"I don't know what gave you the impression that I don't feel well. As you can see I'm doing completely fine." I shrugged. "Just doing the work I neglected all these months and living my life."
"You can't fool me," Eric told me, this time in a more serious tone, leaning back in my chair, while I prayed internally that this conversation wouldn't take too long. "You still have a crush on a specific doctor."
"No, I don't." I retorted unnerved."I'm glad that it's finally over and I honestly already forgot about Anthony."
"But you still care for him." Eric stated.
"He can choke on his new boyfriend's dick, for all I care," I said matter-of-factly, making Eric burst into laughter.
"Well, I don't have to be a psychologist to understand that you are jealous and obviously still in love with Anthony." Eric continued laughing, while I clenched my jaw in annoyance. "But you are completely right. You are over him and you absolutely do not care about him anymore. I mean that totally explains why you are still stalking him or you threatened his boss to give him more free time or... " Eric opened one of my drawers from my desk, taking out the picture of Anthony that I stole as we visited his parents. "You still have a picture of him."
I immediately stood up from the couch to tear the picture out of Eric's hand, shoving it through a shredder, making Eric widen his eyes in shock.
That's what Anthony also did to my heart. He mercilessly shoved it through a shredder, cutting it into millions of pieces, laughing internally about my stupidity and naivety.
"Thank you for telling me that I still have this awful picture. I completely forgot about it." I told Eric monotonously. "As for Anthony's boss, I only threatened him to feel better about what I did to Anthony. Now, we are even."
"That's bullshit," Eric exclaimed unimpressed by my obvious lie, taking out a glass and a bottle of wine from one of my shelves for himself.
I knew that it was bullshit but as I saw how exhausted Anthony was every day after work I knew that something was off, because who would want to work that much voluntarily.
So, one day I went to the hospital he worked at, only to find out that his boss was forcing Anthony to work that much, because he wanted to get revenge on him for disappearing for months, which was basically my fault and not Anthony's. Thanks to me, Anthony didn't look as shitty and exhausted as he did before.
No big deal.
I took a glass out of one of my shelves to pour some of the expensive wine into it, enjoying the taste of it.
