Anthony Lawrence"Someone broke into our house." Mom told me as I neared my parents' house, after having been kicked out of Elias' car.
On the one hand, I was glad to see that my parents were doing fine and haven't been hurt, while on the other hand I still couldn't process what had just happened and the amount of distrust Elias had in me.
"Yeah, these two idiots thought we weren't home." My dad exclaimed, pointing a finger towards two boys, who had to be around eighteen years old and definitely didn't have anything to do with any of Elias' enemies.
Two policemen dragged them inside one of the cars, while my dad followed them in his car to the police station to make a report.
Seeing as both of my parents were doctors too, they could afford a generous lifestyle. So, it didn't surprise me that someone would try to steal something from them.
While my mom called some of her friends, telling them about the incident, I sat down on the curb, automatically calling Elias in an attempt to tell him that he could come back and that he was safe.
But as I expected, he didn't pick up, and after a few desperate tries of calling him like a maniac, I gave up, putting my phone back into my pocket.
He either ignored my phone calls or he didn't hear them, and once he would see my countless missed calls, it was his decision to make whether he would call me back or not.
I pressed my eyes hard together to stop more tears from falling, although I had no idea if I should either laugh or cry.
A few months ago all I wanted was to get rid of him and now, I couldn't imagine even going a single day without him.
I was scared that we would go back to zero but that this time it would be me chasing after him, trying to convince him that all I wanted was to be with him.
However, I had absolutely nothing aside from his phone number. No address, no phone number from Eric or anybody else that was close to him...nothing. So, if he wanted to cut me out of his life, he could easily do so.
And this thought destroyed me internally.
"Anthony is everything alright?" Mom approached me.
"Yes, of course." I lied, trying to make my voice sound as stable as possible because otherwise I wouldn't get a proper word out of my mouth without stuttering, avoiding her eyes. "I was scared that something happened to you and I think it's the shock wearing off. You can go back inside. I'll join you in a minute."
I remembered Elias' words, telling me that I was a bad liar and he was right, because my mom didn't believe what I said for even a second.
She sat down next to me on the curb, gently taking my face in her hands, turning it into her direction to better see the emotional state I was currently in.
"What happened?" She asked concerned, brushing my tears away with her thumb. "Where is even your friend? Didn't he want to come to visit us today?"
"I think he broke up with me," I stated heartbroken.
"He broke up with you?" Mom asked shocked. "You were a couple?"
I only told my parents that Elias and I were close and got along with each other, which they already had a hard time accepting, thinking I was out of my mind.
I wanted to announce the entire truth together with Elias, so that they could meet sort of the new version of him immediately that cared about me...and loved me.
But at this point, I didn't even know if he truly loved me, when he was willing to give up on me so easily.
Maybe, I have been just a game for him. And now that he had the confirmation that I loved him and got everything he could possibly want from me, he got bored, and was now looking for someone else.
