A Hard Way To Go

Ray
Penelope has been working hard getting back into shape muscle wise. Her eyesight is gone forever. I found out Carla was the only one left of the Morton's to inherit the entire fortune and now that she's gone the wealth goes to Anastasia and Penelope. I am sure Anastasia wouldn't want the money or the properties. The attorneys have called here and asked for her. They are looking for Augusta Morton not Penelope Warner. Penelope can't be contacted because they don't want outside interference in her training. I can't tell the attorneys about her or her whereabouts and her new name. I contact the doctor and he contacts the trainer who in turn gives Penelope the message. A month later she has sent a signed and notarized statement giving Anastasia all of the Morton estate. All assets are transferred to Anastasia and she has found that she owns two apartments in Escala and they are joined by private elevators and stairs. Why they need an elevator between two floors is beyond me. We go check it out and I see why, the place has been remodeled for handicapped persons so the elevator. Everything makes sense now. The service elevator is not far from the actual elevator and is just as large.

Anastasia
Mia has told me her brother lives in the penthouse of Escala. I had no idea that the Morton's owned property like this, but this was just the beginning of what I would find out I inherited. Ray said it was my mother's family. At the time I thought he meant Carla. Ray raised me and Carla wanted me to come visit her and Stephan and it was his decision not hers to have me at their place and he decided to try to rape me in front of his cop friends and I resisted and he blinded me knowing what my sketching and photography meant to me. Dad caught them and had his ex military friends with him. The cops lost their jobs and their freedom and the police department paid in the multiple millions. Stephan finally went to prison and his cop pals went along with him. They ended up getting more time than Stephan.

Penelope
I wrote a letter to my daughter and insisted she take all the Morton estate. Of course I only signed it your mother and not my name. Why tell her now. It might come out eventually, but only after I can walk in some way. The Escala place was mine and before I moved in Stephan grabbed Anastasia and hurt her. I made sure everyone involved in allowing Stephan to hurt her get more time than Stephan so they became hostile to their friend in prison. So far I have taken steps with help. It took a lot of exercising the muscles to take those steps. They are having a look at other options for my eyesight. I am already able to read some braille. My fingers are sore from reading so much of it. I am being trained to know how to count my steps or rotations of the wheels on the wheelchair. There is a special spot on the wheelchair that I recognize as a full rotation mark. All this is tedious to say the least. I have special equipment to recognize monetary value.

Kate
I can't believe the luck Anastasia has had. It has went from horrible to amazing. She says her wealth is because people died and she is accepting, but she is sad how it came about. Apparently Ray has encouraged her to accept it including her mothers share of the inheritance as well.

Mia
Anastasia has inherited the Morton wealth and she doesn't like how it came about, but she is not going to refuse the inheritance and her mother gave her her share of the inheritance. Amazingly enough the combined apartments are on the bottom two floors of Escala. It's nice and it has been modified to allow handicapped people easily move about and easily bathe and shower. I am stunned and I check out everything. It has ten bedrooms two offices, a security center and system. A staff is already in place. Numerous rooms to entertain company. A tv room, a library, some regular books and some braille. The kitchens are amazing along with the dining rooms. We leave to go shopping for new furniture for the place. It definitely needs something new.

Anastasia
I want to change all the beds out and the bedding. The living room needs different future for those who aren't handicapped. The beds can be used, but some should be replaced with normal beds. So we go shopping and soon find a few places and I choose colors and furniture that will be very convenient and comfortable for everyone.

Christian
I run into Mia, Kate and Anastasia and find out Anastasia inherited the Morton apartments. It turns out she was left the estate and her mother gave her her half of the estate. They are returning from shopping for furniture. They all had bags and so did the security team helping them. I just laugh and take a few bags and so does my security. We enter her apartment and her staff takes the bags and places them where they can get them after lunch. I am invited to lunch along with my security. I have work to get done so I turn them down. We head to my penthouse. A painting caught my eye which disturbed me. I think even Jason was a bit concerned.

Jason
If I didn't know better the painting is one by Leila Williams and it is a self portrait. This is very strange. I ran full background checks and Leila isn't related to Anastasia or the Morton's. The problem is that Leila is dead now, but that painting has a bad history. After Christian had a one night stand with Leila that painting arrived at the penthouse. We found it was bugged. I check for security and go chat with them about how it came to be in the Morton apartments? They go checking for bugs and they are there and active. Miss Steele has it removed and has someone sweep for bugs all over the apartments.
