It's a day like any other in Aoyama elementary school, as soon as the bell rings indicating the class is over, the young eight years old skinny boy with raven hair is walking fast like he always does, he is in a hurry as if he is being chased by a pack of wild beast.
"There he is!" - shouted one of the students
"Don't let him get away!" - said the other.
The boy starts to run praying that he wouldn't be caught, but his old pair of shoes and socks with different colors which are also obviously not his size as they start to slide down his ankles, are not helping him to run fast enough.
"Hey dork!" - the taller of the three boys quickly grabs the small lad by his arm and throws him at the side of the road.
Afraid to look at his assailants, the young boy said in a very low and fearful tone "W-what do you want Koji-kun? I-I already gave you my lunch"
"You know what we want" - said the boy with huge body frame "Now give it to us!"
"I-I can't, Kobayashi-sensei and the class gave me this" - the scrawny boy answered hugging his worn and almost falling apart bag.
His resistance didn't do much when the other student quickly grabs it away from him and there he takes out a small red envelope where some of the money that his teacher and classmates put together for him.
"Please don't take them, I need them for my mother" - he pleaded.
It is his daily life, it all started as verbal abuse when he was in preschool. He thought that it was the worst that they could do to him, he was wrong, when they entered elementary school the bullying progresses to physical abuse.
"Shut up!" - Koji shouted and the two other kids start to kick him.
"You're disgusting! You shouldn't be in our school! Look at your clothes, can you even call them uniform?" - the bully added as he starts assaulting the boy.
"You smell like garbage! If I know better, your mother smells worse than you!" - said Koji.
That ignites anger inside the boy's chest, his fists close tightly as he looks at the other with glaring eyes.
"What? Are you mad? Want to fight?" - the boy kicks him in the face "Fight if you can! Stupid Alpha! You call yourself royal yet you live in the slums!"
He could only curl up into a ball to protect himself. As much as he wanted to fight them, he couldn't, he has no strength on doing so because of his frail body.
When they feel satisfied they threw his bag to the river after scattering all its contents.
Although in so much pain, he pulls himself up and starts to collect his dirty books, pencils, papers, and other school materials from the mud. His shoes were also taken away and thrown into the river, and because that is his only pair, he starts to go down the water to collect them but ends up only getting one. With bruises, wet clothes, and one pair of shoe left, he starts to walk back home while carrying his muddy books in his arms.
He soon arrived at the ragged house he shares with his mother "Mother, I'm home" - he said.
"Welco─what happened to you?!" - his mother exclaimed.
The boy couldn't answer right away "I-I fell into the river while playing" - he answered.
Of course, his mother didn't believe him, so she crouches down and hugs her son "I'm sorry, it's all my fault" - she said while sobbing.
"No mother, I'm the one who should apologize. They said things about you but I couldn't do anything" - he said inside his head.
