The Final Task (Year 5) C.D ending

The day had finally arrived, the day of the OWLs. Oh god, I've spent months preparing for this that now that it's here I don't know what to do with myself. I bounched up and down once we finished and felt really good about the test. Lilian came up to me.

"Kill me now, my OWLs went terribly!"

"Oh well I guess you should've studied more."

She rolled her eyes at me and we walked down the hall.

"So what was all that at the party? Fred totally went crazy on Cedric, what happened?"

"Oh uh, nothing, just Cedric showing me more and more than he's a jerk that I should've even dated."

"Well glad you see that now, now you can express the emotions I feel about Danny!"

We walked down the hall and into the Ravenclaw common room. We sat down and played some games until nightime.

The next day we saw our OWLs scores and I cheered when I saw my name second to first on the scoreboard. I was the second best in the year, that was crazy. I was pleased that I wasn't first, cause that would give everyone a free card to bully and tease me. The person that was first beat me by 2 points, and she deserved it! I was glad. Lilian was in place 202, out of 298.

"Hey at least, your not the worst..." I said.

"That's still pretty bad Winnie!" Lilian yelled, "I can't believe I'm a Ravenclaw, that's actually bull, that stupid old hat has gotta be on something!"

"I'm sure you're worth being a Ravenclaw, your much smarter if you actually tried."

"I do try, I've tried for 5 years, but it's just harder for me I guess."

'There still two more years, I'm sure you'll prove yourself eventually. My advice, be more serious!"

"I can't, everytime I try to focus on something I always end up getting distracted!"

"I believe in you!"

"I don't." Lilian walked away and just seemed upset.

Lilian never seemed to take her schoolwork seriously, she always shunned the hat for not putting her in Slytherin, her family was full of them. Lilian was very Slytherin, but the hat has it's reasons. Theres a reason she was in Ravenclaw, and there had to be a reason for it.

The next day was the day of the final task of the Tri-Wizard tournament. I took my seat next to Lilian and Neville, talking to both of them.

Neville and I were friends because he knew Madam Pomfrey as well as I did, and we always hung around in my 3rd year. We loved just bonding over plants and nerding out about everthing. Believe it or not he finds himself in there a lot.

I've always been closer with years above me and below me, i've never been really close with anyone in my year other than Lilian. I guess its just my friendly personality, but I really don't know.

"Are you and Cedric like, good now?" Neville asked from next to me.

"Um, idk, I told him to do something to prove that I'm more to him than just a mindless fuck...y'know."

"No, no I don't know. I'm sorry Winnifred, that's...yea."

He's so sweet, so innocent. Neville looked back at the maze and watched as everyone came out from the room and onto the field. The band was playing really loud music while there was cheering everytime someone would come out. As every champion came out, there were cheers here and there for them. I clapped when everyone came out and I kept just smiling and clapping. Deep inside I knew that Ced had something planned, and I didn't know what it was. He wanted to prove himself one way or another so I guess now would be the best time to.
