Me and Cho were walking the halls talking about random stuff. She had mentioned that she thinks that we should stick with the team we have, and not get anyone too new at the game. I had told her that we had a lot of 7th years that left this year, and that we had to fill 4 spaces. Plus I felt that as a Captain, I should be encouraging new people to play! And I get it, I want the House Cup as bad as anyone, but I wasn't going to play with a bad team. I knew for a fact that whoever we were going to recruit had to at least be someone good.
"Yes, and I fully trust you in recruitment, but I wanted you to make sure you weren't doing anything rash!"
"Cho, I'm not going to recruit a first year, I would rather die."
"Okay harsh, Harry was a first year when he made it."
"Yes but that's Harry Potter, if someone like him shows up at try-out I'll consider it. Wait aren't you the one trying to make sure I don't recruit first years?"
Cho face showed all what she was going to say.
"Right, just cause you still like the guy doesn't mean you can play all nice with me."
"Ever sense you got a boyfriend you've been so uptight."
"That's because I don't have to care anymore, I don't have to try. I'm perfectly happy in my relationship so I'll be straightforward and 100% no filter at try-outs."
Cho noded, "I'm still seeker though...right?"
I turned my head, "Of course you are! I don't gold grudes."
Except I should. I don't wanna be mean and shady to Cho just because of a thing that happened 2 years ago. Even though she kissed Cedric doesn't mean that I have to hate her for it. People change and honestly, no matter how much Cho is disliked by my friends, doesn't mean I have to. Because I'll never do something just because everyone else is doing it.
"Come on Winnie, there's got to be a little part in you that still dislikes me because of, you know."
"Cho do you want me to dislike you?" I ask.
"No, oh no that's not what I mean. What I mean is I can't believe how trusting you are. And you're just an amazing person. Honestly I'm trying to compliment you I swear!"
I laugh, "Well thank you very much!" I say.
We continue walking and as she parts to go to her class I continue walking to mine. I run into Cormac in the halls.
"It's nice to see you roaming the halls Corrie!" I say.
"Yeah, it's nice to see you too. I got a question for you."
"Shoot!" I say.
"Do you know Granger?"
"Hermione?"
"Yeah, I've been thinking of asking her out."
"Woah there, only a week and you've got you eyes set on a girl? Corries such a heartthrob."
"Well I got your attention in 2nd year didn't I?" He asks.
"Yes, but never again I swear, not even if we were the last people on earth."
"Ugh, rude Winnie. Anyways do you know anything about her that you could tell me?"
"Um, not really. We don't talk much I mean we're friends but we've always just been spectators in eachothers lives."
"Okay, maybe you can answer this then. Is there anything up with her and Weasley?" He asks.
I'm too bewildered to speak, "Um." I say. "Not that I know of."
