I felt the world spinning on it's axis. I was in a dream, a wonderful dream come true. When I'm with Fred I'm my best self. I know that. Lili was over all the time and the four of us where just so chaotic. Days turned to weeks, weeks to months, and then it was the holiday season. I was on top of the world. Even though the world was gloomy it didn't bring any of us down. We were full with joy, but most importantly, filled with hope. Of course we knew that a battle was coming, and of course we knew that Voldemort was at an all time high right now, but all we could do is sit and wait.
With Fred it's easy, I look at him and I know he loves me. Every morning I imagine it's our life together, because it already is. I wake up to him every morning, and go to bed with him by my side. It makes me the happiest person ever.
Today was Christmas Eve, Fred and George just got back from the joke shop, and me and Lili were finishing up some deserts. I hear the door open and Lili whipes her hands and goes to greet them. I'm taking the pie out of the oven.
"It smells like Christmas in here." George says. Fred turns the corner into the kitchen and comes from behind me, kissing my cheek. He quickly goes in our room to get changed. Lili and George were talking in the living room while I was adding the finishing details to the cake. We made a pie and a cake, it was all coming together.
"Sorry I left you babes." Lili says from the kitchen.
"It's all good."
The Weasleys were having a more formal Christmas dinner. The Borrow was starting to look like it used to and they decorated it beautifully. I had my dress on already, a tight black, long sleeve dress that goes down to my thighs. Lili was wearing a similiar one, but hers was a spagetti strap and blue. Fred came out of the room with a not too fancy tux that wasn't buttoned up. His top button was loose, leaving a small part of his chest bare. He comes up to me and takes my hand. He spins me around and looks at me.
"You're beautiful." He smiles.
I laugh and push some hair out of my face. His face furls as he whipes something off my face.
"Just some powder." He kisses me and walks off. I finish the deserts and go to the other room to get ready. I take out my bun and put my fingers threw my hair, having the curls that I did earlier reform. I put on some light makeup and put my heels on. I grab my wand and a sweater and go out of the room. The twins are goofing around in the living room waiting for me and Lili - who I'm guessing is doing her makeup as well. I come out and Fred immediately comes up to me and picks me up.
"Oh my-" He spins me around and I laugh. "Why so touchy?"
He sets me down and holds me. "I just think you're beautiful and I'm so lucky to have you."
"Oh, well I love you too Freddy."
George puts away the thing they were messing with and puts his jacket on, "Lils!" He yells.
"I'm coming!" She yells back. Me and Fred laugh as we pick up the deserts. She comes out and locks hands with George. We leave the apartment and we apparate out of there. We arrive a little bit far from the Borrow. As we walk Lili and George are talking and laughing and me and Fred are just walking in a comfortable silence. We get there and Molly is frantically running around. Arthur has a drink in his hand and he's staring out the window. I hear Ginny run down the stairs in a pretty dress, a letter in hand. I see Percy is here as well.
"Mum here's the letter for Ron."
"Just give it to Pigwidgeon and send it out."
She goes over to the window and spots us as she gives the letter to the owl. She comes running out and hugs us, "Mum they're here!"
Molly comes after her whiping her hand on her apron hugging us too.
"So glad you all could come!"
"It's good to be here." Lili replies. We walk into The Borrow and set down the deserts. Fred goes to talk to Arthur and me and Lili catch up with Ginny. The two of them are throwing jokes at one another but my attention is elsewhere. Fred and Arthur look like they're in a serious conversation, I come over and Arthur sets his drink down.
"Hello darling, how're you?"
"I'm good you?"
"Fantastic, anyways I was meaning to ask you about something involving Hogwarts."
"Shoot." I reply.
"Was it, different there last year? I hear from Ginny that it's completely different now that Dumbledores not there, so was it different after he died."
"There was kinda a grey that covered the castle, after he died it was extremely different. I can't imagine what it's like now."
"Thanks, well Freddy I guess you could've ask her yourself."
Fred laugh, "Yeah but back to what we were talking about."
"All of the Order will be probably be required to fight yes, but you'll definetly be able to help son, In fact I think it's very brave of you for wanting to help."
"Thanks dad."
"Let's stop talking about the battle now, can we be happy and enjoy tonight?" Molly said, coming over to all of us with a smile. "Come on the table is all set!"
We all go over to the table and the dinner looks incredible. We talk, laugh, catch up, and eat delicious food. After the meal we sit down in the living room and laugh around. Ginny talks about Hogwarts, Percy and Arthur discuss things in the Ministry, and me and Lili are cleaning our desert dishes. She turns to me and smiles, but quickly looks away. I walk over to the archway between the living room and the kitchen and watch as the family laughs around.
"Hi Win."
I turn around and Fred is there. I smile up at him. "Hi pretty boy." He smiles at me. I looked at hm with confusion.
"What?"
His eyes are faced upwards as he's looking at something. I follow where he was staring and laugh.
"Mistletoe, what are we 80?" I say.
Free chuckles before grabbing hold of my cheek. He kisses me in front of his whole family under the mistletoe. I feel him smiling through the kiss as his hand moves away from my cheek. He's reaching up for something? He breaks from the kiss and when I open my eyes he's on his knee, a bright red box in hand.
"I know we haven't talked about this Winnie, but I've never been more sure of anything. My family is a family of love and when we feel something like that we don't want to wait for the rest of our lives. So Winnifred Benson, will you marry me?"
My hands are covering my mouth, shaking like crazy. A huge smile appears on my face as I look over at the rest of The Weasley family and Lili smiling at us. I turn back to look at him and nod my head.
"Yes?!" He asks enthusiastically.
"Yes Fred Weasley I'll marry you!"
He stands up and kisses me as there are cheers from his family. He breaks from the kiss and puts the ring on. It's a beautiful silver that wraps around my finger like a vine. I look at it and he smirks.
"Do you like it?"
"It's beautiful."
Molly runs up to me and hugs me. Arthur pats me on the back and Ginny is jumping up and down. I can't believe he hid it in the mistletoe. He was probably waiting for the chance to reach up and grab it. I can't believe him.
I couldn't stop staring at it, it was just so unbelievable. I was engaged, and it was my childhood best friend. He's always been there, always. Whether or not I knew it or not. I was the happiest person ever
