Today was the day of the ominous back to school party. It was held for any house and it is the most anticipated party of the year. I call it ominous because of the fact that everyone and their mom goes to it. It's the biggest party of the year and it's a lot of chaos, and drinking, and sex, because people choose to get all drunk and touchy touchy with their partners at this time. Probably because they haven't seen them all summer. Lilian asked me to come with her but I said no because of all the drinking there would be, and I just didn't wanna go.
I tapped my foot slowly on the floor under my desk as I read my book. There was no one in the common room except for the first years and a few anti-social people that wouldn't go to a party to save their life. I didn't wanna go, because I knew Fred would be the drunkest one there, and he's a nightmare when he's drunk. Lilian begged me to go but I know I can't help myself around him. He's my alcohol. I had to stay away from him, because with him I'd drink and then we might do something foolish. But the more the night went on the more I wanted to go to the party, I tried to keep myself entertained but it was no use. I was pacing around the common room when a first year came up to me.
"Why aren't you at that party thing?" She asked me.
"Because if I go I'd make some mistakes."
"But it's the first party of the year, and before classes officially start, I'd go if I wasn't a first year." She said, sagging back onto the bean bag chair.
"You really think I should go?" I asked.
"YES!" She screamed, "If I had the choice to go I wouldn't hesitate, live a little! Y'know, before classes take up all your freetime."
I stood there for a bit, thinking it through. "Y'know I wouldn't be a very good influence if I did."
"What do you mean?" she asked.
"I'm your head girl, I should be here, not at some party."
"Literally everyone is at that party, you're not going to be an example to anyone, everyone goes regardless." She said, shoving me out the door.
"Okay, okay, but at least let me get ready!"
"Okkkayyyy, but you gotta come back down here, I'll be waiting!!"
Somehow that first year convinced me, I'll be going to that party. And it's not like I'll see Fred, basically the whole school will be there, the odds of that happening are 1/100! I redid some of my makeup and slipped into a tight blue dress. I curled my hair and slipped on a pair of platforms. I picked up my wand and placed it into my cardigan's inner pocket. I walked down to the common room with my cardigan in hand, "Sooo what do we think?" I asked.
"You look amazing, now get your ass to that party!" She said, pointing out the door.
I laughed and walked straight out the door, I looked back at the girl and she winked at me. I shook my head before closing it behind me.
As I walked to the party I felt more and more regret of this situation. I mean, what was I thinking? Going to the party almost 2 hours after it had started, people will be blackout drunk by the time I get there. I thought of turning back, but I would get a stern talking to by an 11 year old, so I wasn't gonna. I slowed my pace as I reached the door to the party. I could hear the music pounding and I hesitantly opened the door. The second I walked in I was engulfed by the smell of alchol and smoke. The lights were blinking different colors, and the music seemed to pump into my brain. As I walked down the stairs I could hear the voices get louder and louder. As I turned the corner as saw the whole school, partying. I observed the room and spotted Lilian, with Danny's arm around her shoulder. I quickly made my way over to her.
