Hunter sniffled, sitting down on the couch. Tech saw the future. He had heard Tech read out the paper reports.

"Killer Wolf still on the loose. Responsible for 8 murders and the assassination attempt of the Queen."

He didn't want to believe that he heard Tech right, but when it was written on the Glass-board, he knew he had heard right.

The number of times he had considered walking to the Prison for Magical People, showing them his powers and letting them lock him up.

Tech had vowed to change the future, but he believed that the future was fixed. There was no changing it.

Suddenly, there was a banging on the door. Hunter got up. He grabbed a crowbar to defend himself with. The door broke open and it revealed the scientist that tried to keep him as his little science experiment.

The scientist grabbed him, and Hunter struggled against his grip. The pressure around his wrist broke the Power-Dampening Cuff around his wrist and Hunter lost control.

———

Mariam unlocked the door, not ready for what she was about to see. She screamed as she saw her house in the wrecked state it was and the dead scientist on the ground, his horrified expression creeping her out. She called the Police and Tech, grabbing the broken and bloodied Power Dampening Cuff from the ground.

Tech got there before the police did, thankfully.

"It was Hunter," Mariam said with a hoarse voice, handing him the cuff.

"Come back to my house. I'll see if I can track him before he hurts anyone," Tech said.

Mariam answered the Police's questions before leaving. She amazed at how technical Tech's house was.

It was like it was a secret base. Mind you, it acted like one. Tech was standing at the computer, scanning for Hunter.

"I can't find him. It's like he's not in Hyrule," Tech said, frowning.

"Scan the Depths," Mariam ordered, remembering that some times creatures like Hunter will go down to the Depths to gain more power.

"Bingo! He's right underneath us! We have to go down and find him before he harms anyone else," Tech said, packing his things.

Mariam nodded, heading with Tech to the Depths.

———

"HUNTER!" Mariam called as she saw Hunter, who was Killer Wolf, breathing in the airborne Gloom to give him strength. "That stuff's bad for you! It'll kill you! Make you sick!"

"No it won't," Hunter said, with Killer Wolf's voice, his red eyes glowing in the dark.

He swayed, watching Mariam and Tech with hateful eyes.

"This isn't you. Please! Fight it!" Mariam begged.

"I—I can't," Hunter cried, his voice returning to normal for a split second and his glowing eyes fading.

"Hunter please. No one will hurt you. No one can hurt you. No one else is here and we believe in you. Fight it," Tech said.

Hunter listened, stepping closer, desperately trying to fight Killer Wolf's voice. He was doing it when a gunshot rang out. All Mariam heard was the sound of the gun firing and Hunter growling in pain.
